On Reddit, a user named Fate Unknown, who has accurately predicted details about Mortal Kombat 1 in the past, shared more insights about the game’s previous DLC plans. Reportedly, Kombat Pack 3 was intended to include six new characters in total. Half of these characters were going to be from older Mortal Kombat games and the other half would have been a guest fighter from another franchise. This focus on MK characters in Kombat Pack 3 was supposed to be a gesture of appreciation for loyal fans who had supported the game since its debut. However, it appears that these dedicated fans will not receive this reward as Kombat Pack 3 is no longer being developed.
Fate Unknown stated that the initial plan for the final Kombat Pack consisted of six fighters, five from Mortal Kombat and one special guest. However, there will be fewer guests because of various reasons, primarily as a token of appreciation to fans who have continued to support the game. The confirmed Mortal Kombat characters are Jade, Cassie Cage, Kung Jin, Sonya, and Kano. The identity of the guest character is yet unknown, but it’s said they aim to include a popular fan favorite.
