Mortal Kombat 1 Reportedly Runs Much Better on Nintendo Switch 2, But There’s a Big Catch

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been around for a week, and numerous gamers are trying out older titles to observe their performance on the upgraded hardware. In general, it’s been noted that games run much more smoothly than they did on the initial Switch. This enhancement is apparent in games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which have received specific updates, but it seems that almost every game initially released for the original Switch now boasts improved performance as well. This improvement even appears in Mortal Kombat 1, though many won’t be able to verify this themselves.

At present, “Mortal Kombat 1” is among several games facing problems on the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has revealed a comprehensive list of games that either fail to start or have issues running. Interestingly, these problematic titles are no longer available for purchase on the Switch 2’s digital store. However, users with saved data can still transfer their data over to the new system and play the game. The team at Nintendo Life has tested this out, and they’ve shared favorable reviews about “Mortal Kombat 1″‘s performance.

As reported by the source, the newly released Mortal Kombat 1 for this platform boasts significantly reduced loading times and enhanced resolution. The game now appears much clearer than it did previously! It’s not surprising that its graphics still need some refinement; this was a significant issue when the game debuted in 2023, but NetherRealm Studios has apparently made substantial improvements over the past two years. Nintendo Life also had the opportunity to engage in online matches, which is a positive aspect, although finding an opponent seems to have been challenging at times.

Currently, we’re still uncertain when the issues with Mortal Kombat 1 will be addressed, allowing everyone to experience the game’s improvements. Nintendo and their collaborators are diligently working on resolving the problems affecting various games at the moment. Earlier this week, it was suggested that Limited Run Games might have found a solution for an issue affecting several Switch games, including those published by other companies. Yet, we can’t predict how long it will take before these solutions reach consumers.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but mention that Mortal Kombat 1, the game I’ve been diving into lately, was developed by WB Games, the same team behind Hogwarts Legacy, which saw a significant boost on the Nintendo Switch 2. Surprisingly, they offered an upgrade to existing Switch owners for only $10! It got me thinking – could WB Games potentially do something similar for Mortal Kombat 1? Fingers crossed that we’ll hear something official soon. Here’s hoping for some good news in the upcoming weeks!
