As a lifelong fan of both Mortal Kombat and Scream franchises, I must say that this Ghostface crossover is like my two favorite worlds colliding! The teaser trailer is a chilling delight, perfectly capturing the essence of the horror series while seamlessly integrating it into the brutal world of Mortal Kombat. The nods to the Scream films are spot on, from the voice changer to the multiple Ghostface appearances.

Ghostface’s appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled for next month, but NetherRealm Studios has given us a sneak peek at how the upcoming character will perform. In a brief gameplay preview posted on Twitter by Ed Boon, Ghostface is shown battling against Johnny Cage. Since the initial Scream film, Ghostface’s voice has been supplied by actor Roger L. Jackson, who reprises his role in Mortal Kombat 1. In this teaser, you can hear him recite the iconic phrase from the horror movie series. Interestingly, Johnny Cage acknowledges his fondness for scary movies, as he jokingly notes that “Murder Hornets helped pay for my mansion!

Here is a peek at Ghostface coming #MortalKombat1 early access on Nov 19!

The trailer effectively captures the essence of the Scream movies in various aspects. At the onset, there’s a glimpse of Ghostface wielding a voice modifier, a device consistently employed by the killers to conceal their identities and produce similar voices. Later in the clip, Johnny Cage experiences being stabbed from behind by another Ghostface – a nod to the Scream franchise’s customary inclusion of multiple murderers. Although we haven’t witnessed all of the killer’s moves yet, it appears that the main focus will be on stabbing attacks. As the video nears its end, viewers witness some intense and brutal assaults on Johnny Cage. For enthusiasts of the horror series, Ghostface seems poised to deliver plenty of excitement!

Today’s teaser trailer was clearly released to coincide with Halloween, but Ghostface won’t actually be available in

Mortal Kombat 1

until November 19th for those with early access. Early access is granted to everyone that purchased the game’s

Khaos Reigns

expansion, which was released towards the end of September. Anyone that wants to buy Ghostface individually (without getting the other DLC fighters or story) will be able to do so. However, they will have to wait until November 26th. Prior to the release date announcement, some fans hoped that Ghostface might be released on Halloween, but we’ll just have to settle for a glimpse at his gameplay for the time being.

With the debut of Khaos Reigns, players were instantly granted access to fresh characters Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot. After the introduction of Ghostface, additional guest fighters are anticipated to join the roster: Conan the Barbarian and T-1000. Although Robert Patrick has agreed to reprise his role from Terminator 2: Judgement Day, it remains unconfirmed whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will voice Conan the Barbarian. Ed Boon expressed his desire for the developers to secure Schwarzenegger’s return, but we’re all on pins and needles waiting for confirmation.
