As a long-time Mortal Kombat fan and avid gamer, I’m thrilled to see that NetherRealm Studios is continuing to expand the roster of characters in Mortal Kombat 1 with the addition of Takeda Takahashi. Having grown up playing Mortal Kombat X and becoming fond of this character, I’m excited to finally get my hands on him when he releases on July 23rd for Kombat Pack owners.
As a long-time fan of Mortal Kombat, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. Having grown up playing this iconic game series, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as NetherRealm Studios unveils the final DLC character coming to Mortal Kombat 1 – none other than Takeda Takahashi.
Equipped with flexible, whip-like weapons edged with blades, Takeda boasts an impressive reach. He can use grappling techniques not only to evade threats but also to link attacks. His arsenal includes the ability to throw explosives that detonate after a delay, sending adversaries flying, and teleporting briefly for surprise assaults. For his finishing move, Takeda’s whips contract and merge enemies into shreds.
It’s worth noting that in place of Ferra among the new Kombatants unveiled, we find Frost, Sektor, and Cyrax being highlighted. As for Ferra, she is slated as the last DLC character to be released, sharing her debut day with Takeda. Keep an eye out for further information on her unique abilities.
Takeda’s arrival marks the end of Year 1 content for Mortal Kombat 1, but we’re looking forward to unveiling what’s in store for Year 2 at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26th. Reports suggest that this reveal will introduce new characters such as Ghostface from Scream, Noob Saibot, and the T-1000 from Terminator, among others.
