As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating the virtual wrestling world, I can tell you that this news about Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG) potentially joining WWE NXT has me more excited than a kid on Christmas morning!
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the Motor City Machine Guns’ debut in AEW following rumors they were joining the ranks, which was further fueled during Dynamite. However, recent reports suggest they might not be joining AEW after all, and instead are headed to WWE NXT. What makes this even more exciting is that their NXT debut could happen very soon, potentially during the upcoming premiere on The CW, just a few weeks away. If this comes true, we’re excited about the potential Tag Team match-ups we’ve been dreaming of, and we’ve listed them below for your enjoyment.
Why It’s a Big Deal
As a fervent fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for the Motor City Machine Guns before we delve into their dream matches. These two powerhouses, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, have rightfully earned their bouquets of praise. Since their 2006 debut, they’ve established themselves as a formidable tag team in the wrestling world. Across TNA, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Ring of Honor, they’ve tasted significant success, but it’s their dominance in TNA that truly stands out, where they’ve held multiple championship titles.
Previous speculations pointed towards their arrival in AEW, however, despite several opportunities that looked promising for a grand entrance, they haven’t made an appearance on AEW television yet. Now it appears they might be signing up with WWE NXT instead, and if this happens, they will join an impressive list of recent high-profile recruits such as Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia. Time will tell, but should they join the WWE NXT roster, here are some matches we’re excited to see.
Fraxiom
Given that Axiom and Nathan Frazer currently hold the NXT Tag Team Championships, this potential match-up seems almost inevitable. Yet, even without the titles, it promises to be exceptional. The blazing speed these two display whenever they step into the ring is nothing short of astounding, and their skills would certainly complement MCMG’s ability to match that pace while adding a seasoned wisdom to the contest. Every time Axiom and Frazer enter the ring, they deliver, demonstrating versatility that could easily make this a trilogy of thrilling matches if it comes to pass.
Chase U (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson)
Recently, Chase U has faced numerous challenges, particularly following Ridge Holland’s betrayal. Regardless, they remain one of NXT’s most cherished groups, and it would be thrilling to witness a match between them and MCMG in the ring. Of course, not just any configuration of this group is desired – fans are clamoring to see Andre Chase and Duke Hudson reunited once more. They’ve been operating separately due to Holland’s presence, but now that he’s gone, it’s high time to bring the team back together to face off against the formidable duo of MCMG. The combination of speed and power suits Chase U, making it intriguing to watch Shelley and Sabin adjust on the fly as they confront this dynamic.
No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights)
Every week, viewers can’t miss The No Quarter Catch Crew, especially since Wren Sinclair joined. The show’s unique aspect – that any member could potentially clash – is ideal for a team like MCMG, as it allows for a more extended narrative by switching and rearranging the feuds. However, among the crew, it appears that the strongest pairing is between Dempsey and Heights.
Allowing character Wren to interact with a new babyface team offers numerous chances for them to shine when they debut (if they’re intended to be popular characters). Furthermore, pairing Wren and Myles together presents ample opportunities for humor that can make their backstage segments stand out. The MCMG duo should be able to capitalize on these elements quite effectively, and the matches themselves should maintain an engaging quality as well.
Hank and Tank
Even though Hank and Tank are relatively fresh on the scene, they’ve swiftly won over fans due to their unique blend of excitement and charm. With a vintage flair that complements their larger-than-life personas, a confrontation with MCMG would be captivating. Regardless if MCMG debuts as good guys or bad guys, this conflict would hold appeal. Moreover, such a fight would provide Hank and Tank an opportunity to spar with a seasoned team, an experience that could prove beneficial for their future endeavors.
