With 2025 TV lineups yet to include “Bridgerton”, I find myself yearning for another captivating period romance series. Fortunately, I’ve recently discovered one – it’s called “The Buccaneers” and is available on AppleTV+. Excitingly, a new season will be released in June! After catching a sneak peek of the trailer, which includes a Chappell Roan hit, I’m already intrigued and can’t wait to dive in!
2023 saw the debut of “The Buccaneers,” a show that received rave reviews from both critics and viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. Given the abundance of shows available today, it can be challenging to keep up with all of them. With its return, I believe it’s high time I delve into this popular romance series. Here’s the trailer for your viewing pleasure:
Remarkably fascinating! It’s always a treat when the show Bridgerton reimagines modern pop songs in period-specific orchestrations. Yet, what captivates me most is how boldly they use Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” as the soundtrack for this trailer, weaving together the intricate storylines that Season 2 promises to explore.
Even though I haven’t watched the series before, I’ve heard it’s quite similar to an American version of “Bridgerton,” as it centers around a group of young American women who journey to London in the 1870s with the aim of acquiring British husbands and titles. To make it even more intriguing, the music on the soundtrack is dominated by popular tunes from female artists such as Chappell Roan – which happens to be my favorite at the moment.
It seems there were many events during the previous season, and while the trailer may have given away some secrets, my eagerness to see what’s next in Season 2 has me keen on revisiting Season 1 before watching the fresh episodes.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming season, where we find Nan St. George (Kristine Froseth) tying the knot with a dashing Duke named Theo – a grand wedding indeed! Yet, the trailer hints at a lingering affection for a man from her past, Guy, who has departed England alongside her sister. However, intriguing whispers in the trailer suggest that old flames never truly die out, as they both seem to exchange letters. I can hardly wait!

Don’t miss out on getting ahead before the second season of “The Buccaneers” starts airing on June 18! You can do this by subscribing to Apple TV+ right now and catching up on the first season.
Beyond the aspects I’m eager to explore, there appears to be an intriguing relationship dynamics between two females, a romantic bond perhaps, which would have been challenging in the 1870s society. I’m certainly intrigued to learn more about their love narrative!
It appears that Nan exhibits a robust personality, defying conventions as a Duchess in modern-day England. I’m intrigued to see how this facet unfolds throughout the series. Last season, we saw her rescue her sister; could you explain more about that event? Additionally, I’m curious about the stories of the other American women who accompanied Nan to England – what are their tales?
By the way, did you catch Leighton Meester in the trailer? I can’t wait to see the Gossip Girl actress delve into a new role. The Buccaneers Season 2 is set to debut on June 18 and will air every Wednesday throughout the summer.
