A cinema-goer in Sydney had an unexpected surprise while trying to purchase tickets for a kid’s movie lately.
Reddit user Alphasierra recently posted about an unconventional joke they played on social media this week.
When trying to purchase tickets for the 2025 live-action remake of the popular animated kids’ series, How To Train Your Dragon, the user encountered a surprise during checkout.
They shared an image that showed the cinema seating plan displayed when buying tickets.
The image showed the seating plan with red squares marked, indicating reserved seats.

Yet, someone playfully mischievous, or multiple such individuals, deliberately booked a series of seats forming the word ‘troll’ on the seating chart display.
The Reddit user wrote, “Attempting to reserve tickets for How to Train Your Dragon in Sydney… just what’s so funny about that?” as a caption for their post.
The post sparked numerous responses from other cinema-goers, several of whom thought it could have been a less ideal time to view the movie.
I have a feeling you might want to reconsider attending that showing. It seems the audience could potentially be quite bothersome, as one person has already pointed out.
A different person joined the conversation, making a light-hearted comment: ‘It seems someone had plenty of cash and lots of companions at their disposal,’ to which another responded in a similar vein: ‘Reminds me of an elaborate prank from the Private School crowd… who else could afford that?’
Instead of focusing on the slightly irregular shape of the letter ‘P’, one could say: ‘People are quick to criticize when it comes to Enis’ birthday movie outing with friends.’
Many found the amusing aspect of the daring prank, as one cinema-goer commented humorously: ‘Haha, that was the funniest thing I’ve come across recently! Thanks for posting it.’
Simultaneously, some people made connections to the chaos that took place at movie theaters worldwide during the latest showings of The Minecraft Film.

One person suggested, “It seems like the noise from movie audiences has become quite bothersome ever since the uproar over the Minecraft film.
‘I get it, teens are annoying, but I’m pretty sure we weren’t this obnoxious when I was a teen.’
As a fervent devotee, I can’t help but share my excitement about the blockbuster Minecraft Movie that graced our screens on April 3rd. This cinematic marvel has sparked numerous mid-movie uprisings over the catchphrase “chicken jockey” and is now creating a storm on social media platforms, going viral like wildfire!
In various TikTok clips, adolescents are often captured leaping on their chairs, removing their tops, scattering popcorn and streamers throughout the movie theater, and shouting wildly whenever a scene appears featuring a zombie atop a chicken in a boxing arena.
People who are acquainted with the game the movie adapts from will realize that a ‘chicken jockey’ is an uncommon event.
There’s an uncommon occurrence in the Minecraft world, referred to as a mob, where a young zombie is seen perched on a chicken. Interestingly, this event is documented in the Minecraft Game wiki as happening less than 5% of the time while playing the game.
So, when it plays out in the movie, fans of the game become pretty excited at the rare sighting.
Occasionally, the film’s lively nature has led to situations requiring intervention by security personnel, causing the movie to halt. This is due to the disruptive behavior the film provokes among viewers.

In a video shared on TikTok by Australian user @tahliaclaireg, the movie theater was found in disarray, with popcorn scattered everywhere, rolls of toilet paper strewn across the floor, and a ‘wet floor’ sign lost amidst the chaos.
She captioned the post: ‘Aftermath of the Minecraft Movie (security called and movie stopped).’
Supporters of the movie are expressing their reactions on social media platforms to the current viral craze, sharing accounts of the turmoil happening in theaters and sympathizing with the employees who are tasked with cleaning up the aftermath.
What it might be like to work at a cinema right now, with everyone shouting ‘Chicken Jockey’ repeatedly throughout the day.
‘People at the cinema going crazy over the “Chicken Jockey” scene,’ another noted.
One individual responded: ‘I inquired from the seemingly harassed theatre usher about how often they’ve encountered the term “chicken jockey,” and they gave me a puzzled look.’
In other words, the movie “How To Train Your Dragon” is a modern, live-action adaptation of the beloved 2010 animated film from Dreamworks.
