MultiVersus Developer Purchased by WB Games

MultiVersus Developer Purchased by WB Games

As a long-time fan of multiplayer fighting games, I’m absolutely thrilled about Warner Bros. Games’ recent acquisition of Player First Games, the brilliant minds behind MultiVersus. The news came as a delightful surprise, especially since the studio has been working closely with WB for quite some time now on this innovative and entertaining title.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that Player First Games, the team behind the free-to-play fighting game MultiVersus which I’ve been enjoying lately, has now become an exclusive studio under Warner Bros. Games! This studio was only founded in 2019 and they quickly struck a deal with WB Games to develop their first project – MultiVersus. And now, just months after the game’s official release, WB Games has decided to acquire Player First Games completely. So, this means that all future projects from this talented team will be exclusively published by Warner Bros. Games!

Today, WB Games officially revealed in a press statement that they have bought Player First Games. The specific purchase price was kept confidential, and WB didn’t provide much insight into their motivations for this deal at this time. Player First Games, for its part, expressed confidence that this acquisition would significantly enhance “MultiVersus” in the future.

As a gamer, I’ve been excitedly following the progress of MultiVersus, developed by Player First Games, for quite some time now. And I’m thrilled to announce that they’re officially joining Warner Bros. Games! I’m proud to be part of a community where such creative and talented individuals are welcomed with open arms. The addition of Player First Games to our development team only strengthens our capabilities further.

“Tony Huynh, co-founder of Player First Games, expressed his team’s enthusiasm about becoming part of the Warner Bros. Games community. He believes this collaboration will significantly benefit ‘MultiVersus’. To ensure an exceptional game experience for players, the development team is working closely with the publisher, which is ideal for everyone involved.”

As a gamer, I’m excited about the recent news that Player First Games is being acquired by WB Games, just a day before MultiVersus Season 2 kicks off. Last week, we learned that Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice are joining the MultiVersus roster as part of this new content drop. Previously, we’ve seen some amazing additions to the game during Season 1, such as Jason from Friday the 13th, Agent Smith from The Matrix, and The Joker from DC Comics. And it looks like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat might be next, but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s officially confirmed.
