MultiVersus is Getting One Final Season on February 4th, Servers Going Offline in May

The most recent game from Warner Bros., called MultiVersus, is set to shut down due to poor financial returns. Player First has revealed that Season 5 will be its last content update, starting on February 4th and ending on May 30th. During this period, two new characters – Aquaman and Lola Bunny – will join the roster of playable characters. Additionally, all microtransactions using real money have been temporarily halted.

Until May 30th, users holding Gleamium and character tokens can continue utilizing them. Regrettably, at 9 AM Pacific Standard Time on that same day, the servers will shut down and the game will no longer be available for purchase from any storefronts. However, even after the servers go offline, the game can still be played offline by up to four players locally, as well as against AI opponents.

From February 4th to May 30th, it’s essential that you download the most recent update, often referred to as Season 5. After doing so, make sure to generate a local backup file. This way, all the content, including items you’ve purchased, will continue to be accessible offline in the future.

MultiVersus can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC platforms. Initially released in an open beta phase in 2022, it was subsequently taken down and reintroduced in 2024. The game has received criticism due to several alterations; for a comprehensive understanding, please refer to our review for additional insights.
