Music Legends LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow Join The Voice as Mega Mentors for Season 27!

The Voice just got a little more country.

The popular singing show on NBC, their competition series, revealed that music legends LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow will join them for Season 27 as Mega Mentors. Their role includes aiding the coaches and contestants during the playoff stage.

14-year-old Rimes, the youngest Grammy winner for Best New Artist in 1997, is set to back coaches John Legend and Adam Levine. Meanwhile, nine-time Grammy winner Crow will team up with coaches Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé.

Both mega mentors celebrated the announcement by sharing the news to their Instagram Stories.

Rimes and Crow have become part of an exclusive circle of artists who have assumed the role of Mega Mentor. Previously, this position was held by celebrities like Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, and Jennifer Hudson, as well as past coaches on The Voice. Much like these individuals, Rimes and Crow are not only proficient musicians but also have a wealth of experience with The Voice.

In the fourth season of the show which aired in 2013, Crow took on the role of the Leading Advisor. Moreover, she has graced the stage of ‘The Voice’ on numerous occasions. Meanwhile, Rimes has previously acted as a coach for both ‘The Voice UK’ and ‘The Voice Australia’. In fact, she emerged victorious in the 13th season of the latter, back in October.

This season, each of the current coaches chose an advisor to aid their teams. Bublé enlisted the help of “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo, while Legend welcomed Coco Jones. Additionally, Ballerini secured Little Big Town to join in, and Levine, who returned as a coach this season after leaving in 2019, teamed up with his high school classmate Kate Hudson.

Hudson shared with Entertainment Tonight last month that he’s known Adam since their days in high school. He recalled how Adam’s first band was constantly performing somewhere, and now witnessing his success and working together on this project, he finds it both comfortingly familiar and oddly surreal.
