Musk Scolded at Trump’s Congressional Address

The tech billionaire’s tech became an issue in Washington.

During President Donald Trump’s March 4 congressional speech, tech mogul Elon Musk was positioned in the House gallery balcony, where he started to record the event with his mobile phone. The 53-year-old Musk was subsequently approached by a police officer who requested him to stop using his phone, as reported by the Washington Examiner, because photographing or recording the address is prohibited.

Musk, mentioned several times during the president’s speech, hasn’t made any public comments regarding the recent event as of now.

Trump’s address to Congress was, overall, an eventful one.

Following his assertion that his 2024 victory over Kamala Harris represented an extraordinary “mandate,” Trump was disrupted by veteran congressman Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, who brandished his cane while addressing the president.

“Mr. President,” Green called out, “You have no mandate.”

Following the 77-year-old’s decision not to comply with sitting down, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) requested Green’s expulsion from the premises.

Reading from the rules, Johnson stated, “It’s clear that these individuals persistently disrupt the appropriate conduct. Therefore, as Chair, I am instructing the Security Officer to reestablish order and escort this person out of the room.

As the House Sergeant at Arms Ronny Jackson (R-Tx.) and security led Green away, Republicans shouted in unison, “Na na na na, farewell.”

Republicans bid Green a boisterous adieu as they chanted “Na na na na, goodbye” while Sergeant at Arms Ronny Jackson (R-Tx.) and security escorted him out.

Upon leaving the room, Green expressed to NBC News reporters that in his moral conviction, he believes the President’s actions are not acceptable and should not be tolerated any longer.

He stated that the budget he presented would lead to reductions in Medicaid, and further added that his claim of having a mandate was problematic because he does not actually have one. In essence, he doesn’t have the authority to reduce healthcare for low-income individuals.

However, as Trump received audible applause from Republican attendees, some Democratic members chose a more discreet form of disagreement instead.

During the hearings, numerous female representatives chose to don pink attire as a symbolic demonstration against Trump’s policies concerning women and families. Some others displayed blue and yellow pins or ties, signifying their backing of Ukraine. A few representatives opted for t-shirts with the word “resist” inscribed on the rear side.
