It’s not time to press play just yet.
In the upcoming months, there’s an abundance of movies and series set to premiere, many of which are based on popular novels. Thus, this could be an excellent opportunity to catch up on your reading to get a sneak peek of what’s coming to both the big and small screens.
Looking forward to the summer ahead, I can’t help but reminisce about the beautiful Cousins Beach, a place we’ll all reunite one last time with the much-anticipated third and final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Inspired by Jenny Han’s captivating novel, “We’ll Always Have Summer,” this enchanting series is set to debut in July.
As for our beloved character, Belly (played by Lola Tung), her heart-wrenching dilemma between the charming Conrad (Christopher Briney) and the mysterious Gavin (Gavin Casalegno) may not be as straightforward as it was in the book. The suspense is palpable, and I, for one, can’t wait to see how this love triangle unfolds!
Han recently shared with Entertainment Weekly, “There are unexpected elements,” or alternatively, “Han mentioned some unexpected aspects to Entertainment Weekly.
This summer, another beloved Young Adult novel is set to hit TV screens: “We Were Liars” by E. Lockhart. The series, produced by Julie Plec from “The Vampire Diaries,” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in June. It revolves around the character of teenage girl Cadence Sinclair as she recovers her memories, two years after an incident, while returning to her family’s private island.
As the memories begin to flood back, the twist and turns take over from there.
There are many more surprises and changes ahead in the story, as the book sensation “The Housemaid” by author Freida McFadden is about to be brought to the screen with actresses Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar.
In an interview at CinemaCon in April, Seyfried shared that the locations she visited for her role were beyond what she had imagined. The unexpected aspects of portraying this character proved both personally and professionally rewarding. We explored territories I wouldn’t have as an actor otherwise. We delved into some unconventional situations, which were not initially anticipated.
Over the coming year, it’s anticipated that three novels penned by Colleen Hoover will be adapted into movies. First up is “Regretting You” set to premiere in October, followed by “Reminders of Him” and finally “Verity”.
…and that’s merely a glimpse into future transformations. To discover more books worth adding to your ‘To Be Read’ list ahead of their movie adaptations, continue reading…

With a chilling twist, the movie is slated for release in 2025, making the suspense even more intense as time ticks closer. We’re fully on board for this thriller—although, truth be told, it does give us a bit of a fright!

What Makes Us Eager: Experiencing being stranded on a cruise ship is terrifying for most, but it becomes even more harrowing when you see someone fall overboard, yet your warnings are ignored. This is the predicament that Knightley finds herself in as she navigates through the Netflix adaptation of one of Ware’s earlier suspense novels, filled with peril and uncertainty.

His past work consistently demonstrates that he excels in this genre like no other.
According to Maggie O’Farrell’s 2020 novel, the cast includes Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley, Joe Alwyn, and Emily Watson. The premiere is scheduled for December 12 in theaters. Why We’re Anticipating: Five years after her return, Kenna seeks to reconnect with her daughter. However, she finds comfort in a local bar owner who offers her a second chance. As several of the popular author’s books are adapted for screenplay, this book comes alive with Kenna playing a significant role in the scriptwriting process, collaborating with Lauren Levine on the script.
According to the 2021 novel by Emily Henry, the following actors are cast: Tom Blyth, Emily Bader, Lucian Laviscount, Jameela Jamil, Lukas Gage, and Sarah Catherine Hook.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share the excitement surrounding the new venture of none other than astronaut Ryan Gosling. While he previously graced space as the first man, this time he finds himself in an entirely different galaxy, awakening from a coma as the lone survivor in an exploration team sent to Tau Ceti, a stellar system 12 light-years away from our humble abode, Earth.
Now, with no crewmates to rely on, Gosling must press forward on his mission to counteract solar dimming – a critical task that could very well determine the fate of our species and prevent human extinction. So, no big deal, right? Just saving humanity while navigating through the cosmos – piece of cake!

Based on: Rufi Thorpe’s 2024 novel
Starring: Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman
Premieres: TBD in 2026 on Apple TV+
Why we’re Excited: Isn’t it intriguing when a limited series features Nicole Kidman? The story, based on Thorpe’s book about the daughter of a former Hooters waitress and a pro-wrestler who resorts to OnlyFans after becoming a single mother at 20, is already captivating. However, with Kidman’s involvement, this eight-episode series has undeniably climbed up our must-watch list.
According to Holly Gramazio, the 2024 novel titled “Starring: Juno Temple” is yet to be premiered on Apple TV+. The reason we’re thrilled about it is that it introduces us to more than a hundred husbands! The narrative revolves around Lauren, who encounters her husband Michael, but there’s a twist – she has never seen him before in her life. A different husband swiftly takes his place, and soon she realizes an endless stream of spouses are coming from her attic. As she embarks on this complex romantic odyssey, important questions arise: What does she truly desire from life, and will she seize the opportunity to take control and achieve it?

We’re incredibly eager for its release due to the success of Kidman’s previous shows like “Big Little Lies,” “Nine Perfect Strangers,” and “The Undoing” – not to mention that this will be her second appearance on our watch list this year. Furthermore, the fact that these talented actors will portray crime-fighting sisters makes it our most anticipated new show of 2023.
This upcoming novel by Elin Hilderbrand, titled yet undisclosed, is scheduled to premiere on Peacock. The story stars Jennifer Garner, who plays Hollis, a food blogger dealing with life’s upheavals after tragedy strikes. To help her heal, she plans a luxurious weekend with her dearest friends, but things take an unexpected turn as hidden tensions and shocking secrets surface among the group. With Hilderbrand being the reigning queen of Nantucket beach reads and Garner on board, this book is definitely earning a spot in our reading list!
