Mookie Betts is dealing with a sudden curveball.
In the 2025 Major League Baseball season, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ outfielder admitted that he had been dealing with an undisclosed ailment after being absent for several initial games.
After their game with the Los Angeles Angels on March 23, Betts admitted to reporters that he wasn’t completely certain about something. He added that no one seems to know exactly what it is. To illustrate his point, he shared an example: if you weigh yourself and find out you weigh 150 lbs, but before spring training ended, you weighed 175.
The 32-year-old individual, who has a 6-year-old daughter named Kynlee with his wife Brianna Hammonds, detailed the onset of his health issues. He started vomiting solid food earlier this month and expressed fear towards eating. However, he understands that developing an unhealthy attitude toward food could lead to further complications given that he’s still actively training alongside his teammates.
Betts explained that his stomach is extremely upset. He’s been practicing all day, but it feels like his body is consuming itself. Every time he tries to refuel his body, he ends up vomiting. He’s unsure of how to resolve this issue.
The star baseball player, who came to the Dodgers in July 2020, isn’t alone in his uncertainty about his health condition. His medical team has been unable to pinpoint a diagnosis because his blood tests have come back exceptionally clean. For now, they’ve prescribed medication for him. Regarding Mookie Betts’ strategy for addressing his stomach problems, he’s opting to eat more cautiously.
The host of “On The Base” podcast seemed to imply that they would be feeling a bit weak for a while. They expressed exhaustion from sitting, vomiting, and exerting themselves. What they truly desired was the opportunity to play.
Apart from Betts, another significant Dodgers player who faced a health challenge last year was pitcher Dustin May. In June 2024, he was admitted to the hospital due to an esophageal tear. It seems that a piece of lettuce from his salad became stuck in his throat, leading to this “life-changing incident.” However, following surgery and six months of rehabilitation, he has recently returned to the baseball field this year.

Previously part of Bachelor Nation, this individual disclosed that he had to visit the hospital by crawling on hands and knees because of intense back pain that worsened during a camping trip in an RV with a companion.
Currently, from the tips of my toes to my knees, I’m feeling quite a strange tingling sensation, which is bizarre,” he remarked on his Trading Secrets podcast during its March 24 episode. To give you some context, let me clarify that this isn’t meant to sound arrogant, but around two or three weeks ago, maybe even a month ago, I was squatting approximately 295 pounds. Yet, now, I can barely do a squat on one leg without falling. It’s as if I’ve had a stroke or something similar.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In a revelation made in February 2025, the former star of “Even Stevens” disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip to celebrate clay pigeon shooting for her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday.

In Amy Schumer’s own words, she expressed gratitude towards the internet for its role in helping her uncover a medical mystery. She mentioned that following a series of interviews, she found herself receiving criticism from unexpected quarters – doctors, who were commenting on her appearance and suggesting potential health issues. These concerned individuals suspected she might have Cushing syndrome due to her altered facial features.
Upon further investigation, Amy realized that the steroid injections she had been getting for her scars could have caused this condition. She had these injections following procedures such as a breast reduction and a C-section.
Amy then connected the dots and understood that the internet’s relentless scrutiny may have actually saved her from overlooking a serious health issue. In a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, she shared her relief at learning that the type of Cushing syndrome she had would resolve on its own, ensuring her well-being.
In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying ordeal during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber when she began exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke. She recalled, “Justin asked if I was alright, but I didn’t respond because I wasn’t sure. When he asked again, I couldn’t speak, and my right side of the face started drooping.” Despite the temporary resolution of these symptoms, Hailey immediately sought medical attention to ensure her well-being.
Doctors discovered a small blood clot in Hailey’s brain, which they identified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further investigations at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that she had a hole in her heart known as patent foramen ovale (PFO). The model explained that the blood clot moved from her heart through this hole and reached her brain, causing the TIA.
Following a successful PFO closure procedure, Hailey reported feeling well and in good health.
In the same year, Hailey went through a health crisis, Justin Bieber also encountered a similar predicament. Specifically, in 2022, the “Baby” singer disclosed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily affected movement in parts of his face and led to the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour.
Justin explained on Instagram that the virus attacking nerves in his ear and facial area caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. He pointed out that he couldn’t blink, smile, or move his nostril on the affected side. In an Instagram video, he stated, “This eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So, there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
He further revealed that it became increasingly difficult for him to eat during the ordeal. However, eventually, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was doing well and recovering nicely. She added that while it was a frightening and seemingly random situation, he would fully recover, and she was relieved that he was okay.
Jamie Foxx initially chose not to disclose much about his hospitalization in April 2023, but later spoke openly about the ordeal. In Atlanta one day, he recounted, “I was experiencing such a severe headache that I asked my friend for an aspirin.” However, before he could take the medication, he fainted and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.
Upon first seeking medical attention, Foxx received a cortisone injection and was sent home. Concerned by his condition, his sister Deidra Dixon took him to a hospital where they discovered he had suffered a brain hemorrhage leading to a stroke.
Twenty days after undergoing surgery on May 4, the Academy Award winner awoke in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “as I truly believe I needed each and every one of them.

The actress described her recovery as challenging, experiencing aphasia and intense pain, but now she is fully recovered and in good health.
As a dedicated follower, I’d like to express my profound gratitude for the unwavering support from my family during a challenging time. In January 2024, I experienced a severe stroke, and my loved ones swiftly rushed to be by my side.
When I texted them about my stroke and shared a picture, they immediately came to my aid. The situation required me to stay in the hospital for an extended period due to other medical concerns. My lupus wasn’t responding well, and my kidneys were failing, making the situation quite complex.
However, today I am on the road to recovery. I’m doing great now, working to regain some motor skills, but otherwise, I’ve made a full recovery.
