As a passionate gamer and avid follower of My Hero Academia, I can’t help but be in awe of Kohei Horikoshi’s ability to craft such compelling stories with deep meaning. The recent revelation about Deku’s iconic line, “This is the story of how I became the greatest hero. The story of how we all became the greatest heroes,” has added yet another layer to this already intriguing manga.
In the realm of “My Hero Academia,” action takes center stage, but the series has occasionally stirred controversy with its dialogue. Kohei Horikoshi, the mastermind behind this captivating manga, possesses a remarkable talent for crafting profound quotes. A short while ago, the anime breathed life into one such statement as Deku proclaimed that his companions were on course to become the world’s foremost heroes. Now, Horikoshi is shedding light on how this powerful line was brought to fruition.
The news originates from Da Vinci Magazine in Japan. In an exclusive interview with Horikoshi following the release of a new season for My Hero Academia, the magazine posed a question about a well-known quote. Care to take a look at it? Here it is:
“This is the account of how I achieved heroic greatness.”
In the beginning of “My Hero Academia,” Deku declared that the story would reveal how he transformed into the earth’s mightiest hero. As the battle against All For One intensified, however, Deku subtly changed his perspective to encompass his team as well. Horikoshi, the manga creator, hadn’t initially intended this shift but found it fitting for the narrative.
Horikoshi shared that he hadn’t initially envisioned “[the quote]” for the series. Instead, as he pondered over the conclusion and contemplated the impact of caring for others on the world, he imagined Ochaco and Class 1-A continuing to support Deku. This thought process led him to develop this aspect of the storyline.
As a devoted fan of “My Hero Academia,” I can confidently say that the manga has kept its word in delivering an engaging and thought-provoking conclusion. We’re nearing the final chapters, and the epilogue has put a magnifying glass on Deku’s post-war reality. Amidst societal changes, Deku and his friends serve as beacons of hope for what lies ahead. Horikoshi’s rephrased statement truly resonates with the series’ ending.
