My Hero Academia Creator Hypes 'You're Next' With Special New Sketch

As a seasoned gamer and ardent fan of anime, I can confidently say that Kohei Horikoshi’s decision to delve back into the world of My Hero Academia is nothing short of a blessing. Over a decade ago, I was captivated by the tale of Izuku Midoriya and his journey towards becoming a hero. The end of the manga only serves to fuel my anticipation for the upcoming film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next.

Kohei Horikoshi recently concluded the manga for “My Hero Academia,” wrapping up the tale of Izuku Midoriya and his fellow students from Class 1-A, a journey that spanned ten years since the popular superhero shonen series debuted. Even though Horikoshi has earned his right to retire, he just can’t resist returning to the anime world he built. This month in Japan, “My Hero Academia: You’re Next” was released and will hit North American screens in October. To keep the excitement going, Horikoshi has revealed new artwork that showcases fresh appearances for characters like Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Deku, as well as zeroing in on one of the new antagonists.

In the fourth installment of my favorite shonen franchise, I find myself squaring off against Dark Might, a sinister counterpart to All Might. However, it’s not just Dark Might causing trouble; the ominous Gorrini Family will also be making waves, with fresh faces Giulio and Anna adding layers to the plot that I can hardly wait to uncover. As Studio Bones has hinted, these new villains share a tangled history and will even introduce a touch of romance into the series. There are still many questions about the other antagonists in this upcoming movie, but Horikoshi seems certain they’ll play significant roles in the grand scheme of things.

Giulio’s Arrival Classes Up The Joint

Kohei Horikoshi’s latest artwork spotlights Giulio prominently, while also providing a sophisticated makeover for characters Midoriya, Bakugo, and Shoto. For much of My Hero Academia, these young heroes have been preoccupied with battling villains like Shigaraki, All For One, Overhaul, Re-Destro, and many others, leaving little time for fancy events. With the conclusion of Class 1-A’s storyline, they now have ample opportunity to unwind and savor the rewards of their hard work.

As a lifelong fan of My Hero Academia, I was absolutely thrilled to see Horikoshi’s stunning artwork featuring Deku, Bakugou, and Todoroki dressed in Giulio’s butler outfit! It felt like stepping into another world for a moment, transporting me right back to the theaters where I first fell in love with this incredible series. I can still remember the excitement of waiting in line for tickets, the anticipation building as the lights dimmed, and the exhilaration of watching the heroes come to life on screen. This latest piece of art brought all those memories flooding back, reminding me of the impact that anime has had on my life and how it continues to inspire me today. If you’re a fan of My Hero Academia, I highly recommend checking out Horikoshi’s artwork – it’s truly a must-see!

To get a better understanding of “My Hero Academia: You’re Next,” let me share Toho Animation’s take on the movie’s plot. In a world where heroes and villains clash for peace and disorder, Deku, an aspiring hero student from U.A. High School, encounters a villain who mimics his long-admired hero. Will Deku and his fellow students of Class 1-A at U.A. High School be able to save the world by stopping Dark Might, the self-proclaimed new Symbol of Peace?

As a gaming enthusiast, eager to know more about the adventures of Class 1-A, I suggest you keep tabs on Team Anime at ComicBook for the most recent news regarding UA Academy’s future exploits!
