He expressed, “I wasn’t expecting Shoji to be a heartthrob based on his appearances, but I was genuinely thrilled about it. I informed my editor, Imamura-san, that Shoji has fewer scenes and doesn’t fit the typical definition of ‘handsome.’ Yet, I’m happy that people find him cool.”
