Although “My Hero Academia” concluded its run last summer, the creative mind behind it is back with a unique sketch for Tsuyu Asui before the manga’s grand exhibition this summer in Japan. Despite the series’ official conclusion in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last year, the creator has managed to keep “My Hero Academia” vibrant in the past 12 months. Not only does the manga bring fresh content to build upon its original finale, but the creator also presents new artwork to honor the series’ most beloved characters.
In the past year, My Hero Academia has garnered significant acclaim, and this recognition continues with an upcoming exhibition in Japan later this year. This exhibition promises to showcase the creator’s artwork from the series under a magnifying glass, and it was recently publicized with exclusive new artwork by Horikoshi. As we approach the opening of this new exhibit, Horikoshi has reemerged on social media with an exceptional sketch of Tsuyu Asui’s Froppy that presents her in an entirely fresh perspective. Take a look at it below.

What’s Going on With My Hero Academia?
2021 has been an exceptional year for the popular anime series, My Hero Academia. Not only did it conclude its manga storyline with a special epilogue towards the end of last year, adding depth to the grand finale, but it also released another one-shot that built upon this expansion. The latest release in Japan of the new My Hero Academia Ultra Age fan book has unveiled a wealth of previously unknown information about several characters. This new data provides insights into the lives of the young heroes post-finale, and it appears that each character has embarked on significant pro hero careers.
In the later chapters, it’s shown that Tsuyu remains tightly bonded with Ochaco Uraraka and their U.A. Academy classmates despite the passage of years since graduation. It’s evident that the experiences they shared during the war left a lasting impression on their subsequent lives. Throughout ‘My Hero Academia’, Froppy was a significant figure in Deku’s life, making it heartening to see Horikoshi reintroduce the character so thoughtfully. Rest assured, we’ll be encountering more of her shortly.
What’s Next for My Hero Academia?
The popular manga “My Hero Academia” has concluded its run, but it’s about to transition into anime with its final season of episodes set to air later this year. Known as “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON“, this upcoming anime will be directed once again by Naomi Nakayama from studio Bones, with Yosuke Kuroda returning to pen the series’ scripts. Kenji Nagasaki takes on the role of chief director, while Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima are responsible for the character designs, and Yuki Hayashi is in charge of composing the music.
This October, the final season of “My Hero Academia” is set to premiere as part of the Fall 2025 anime lineup. You can watch it simultaneously with Japan on Crunchyroll, and in the meantime, catch up on the first seven seasons of the show on their platform. If you’re craving more, don’t forget to check out the current spinoff prequel series, “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes“, also available on Crunchyroll, as it continues to air new episodes this Spring. With its ongoing popularity, there’s still a lot for fans to look forward to in 2025.
