As a long-time fan of My Hero Academia, I can confidently say that this latest season has been nothing short of breathtaking. The Todoroki Family saga has always tugged at my heartstrings, but the recent events have truly taken it to another level.
In the latest installment of “My Hero Academia” Season 7, Shoto Todoroki and his family have reached a full circle with Shoto’s heroic intervention. This popular series by Kohei Horikoshi has consistently highlighted several key themes, one of which revolves around the complexities of the Todoroki Family. The intense competition between Endeavor and All Might in Japan’s hero rankings pushed Endeavor to a point where he subjected his family to abuse, hoping to surpass him someday. This unfortunate situation has led to numerous episodes delving into their collective pain and healing process as a family.
In the climactic confrontation between heroes and villains, Shoto initially clashed with Dabi, who were both Todoroki siblings. They confided in each other about their father’s past actions. Although it seemed like Shoto emerged victorious, Dabi was merely gathering strength for a devastating final blast. In the latest episode, this destructive blast finally came into play, compelling Shoto to race from miles away to assist his family and prevent Dabi from causing widespread destruction.

My Hero Academia: The Todoroki Family Reunites
In Season 7 Episode 19 of “My Hero Academia”, Dabi assaults Endeavor, with his internal temperatures escalating beyond normal limits. Despite Endeavor’s persistent attempts to halt his son, they prove futile due to Dabi’s psyche being severely fragmented by pain and fury, causing his body temperature to rise even higher. Recognizing that the only way to prevent a potential catastrophic explosion from Dabi might be to sacrifice himself, Endeavor struggles, but his weakened state prevents him from launching Dabi into the air. Eventually, Rei Todoroki shows up and attempts to quell the flames consuming Dabi.
Natsuo and Fuyumi show up too, and the family is struggling to keep Dabi at bay despite Endeavor’s attempts to urge them to retreat. In his thoughts, he yearns for a future where they can all be content without him, but it quickly becomes apparent that no one intends to abandon ship and will stand together in the face of their challenges. However, before long, Shoto rushes in from across half the town, bringing with him the mighty Great Glacial Aegir for a heroic intervention on a grand scale.
How Shoto Saves His Family
Earlier in the episode, All Might overhears Tsukauchi’s distress about Dabi’s advancements and swiftly formulates a plan. Encouraging Shoto and Tenya Iida, he is convinced they can traverse the vast distance to catch up with Dabi before the villain detonates. Both of them agree and set off, with Iida exerting himself to run faster than ever. He achieves speeds comparable to a fighter jet, while Shoto accelerates them further by shaping his ice into a mock fighter jet and using his heat to optimize their air flow.
Due to Iida’s journey across the city to join Dabi, Shoto takes advantage of this time to strengthen his Flashfire fist. He then hurries towards where Dabi and the rest of his family are gathered. With everyone surrounding him providing additional energy, Shoto delivers a powerful Great Glacial Aegir. This move successfully extinguishes the fiery explosion. Overwhelmed by the event, Dabi begins to cry, shedding his anger. From this point on, the Todoroki Family can now start their journey towards healing.
This particular instance not only reunites the Todoroki family following their past hardships, but also empowers Shoto to the point where he accomplishes feats that even his father was unable to achieve. It’s a feat uniquely within his capabilities, made possible by his own strength.
