As a longtime fan of My Hero Academia, I must say that the latest developments in season 7 have left me absolutely thrilled! The anticipation for the showdown between All Might and All For One has been building since season 3, and it’s finally here. Being a seasoned watcher, I can tell you that this is one of the most highly-anticipated scenes in the series’ history.
*Warning: This article contains full spoilers for the final episode of My Hero Academia season 7.*
It seems like all the finales of My Hero Academia are happening simultaneously, as season 7 wraps up the second-to-last section of the anime.
Previously, members of the UA group found themselves in a critical situation. Ochaco and Toga were engaged in a struggle for survival, while a Quirkless All Might turned to Melissa for assistance in creating a completely novel superhero attire.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I’ve been hearing whispers that our beloved All Might might hang up his cape after episode 21, due to the peak of his weakness. However, I can’t help but wonder if this gossip is truly founded in fact.
Amidst all the turmoil, we’ve overlooked an essential character: Deku. Originally our main protagonist in season 1, this anxious young boy has taken a backseat in season 7, playing more of a supporting role.
Well, fellow anime enthusiasts, I can’t help but wonder where our favorite trio’s tales are heading next! Let’s delve into the thrilling events that unfolded at the end of My Hero Academia season 7.
How did Ochaco and Toga’s final fight end?
In the continuation of our tale, as one could predict, the situation didn’t improve much for those characters following their intense clash in episode 20. However, it was Toga who met her tragic end midway through that very episode.
However, what transpires is that we find Toga looming over Ochaco, who’s clinging to life following the vanishing of the Double Swarm.
Ochaco’s ability has been excessively utilized, causing significant harm to her physical health. On the other hand, Toga appears reluctant to let Ochaco perish; she seems determined to prevent it from happening too quickly.
Rather than absorbing some of Ochaco’s blood, Toga undergoes a partial transformation as a result, explaining their previous merged appearance in photographs.
Performing a lifesaving blood transfusion is something unexpected for Toga, who has been portrayed as one of the main antagonists in season 7.
Toga’s motive is to take a dramatic action to authentically show Ochaco her sincere kindness. However, there’s a problem: if Toga persists, she might end up depleting all her blood, which could potentially lead to her own demise.
Ochaco begs for her to stop, but Toga insists that she’s going to do exactly as she pleases.
Toga is determined not to be found out, but she’s confident that Ochaco will never let her escape no matter what transpires. In a heartfelt gesture, Toga expresses regret for her past actions towards Ochaco, acknowledging the joy she’s brought into Toga’s life and the many things Ochaco has done.
Toga ponders if these emotions were ones she might have experienced leading up to their ultimate confrontation. As she contemplates what it would be like to live as an ordinary girl, they both lose consciousness. This suggests that the blood transfusion has been effective.
Ochaco’s life has been saved… and it’s because Toga has given her own in the process.
What does the armoured suit mean for All Might?
As Toga and Uraraka reach an emotional resolution, All Might is regaining his self-assurance. Determined to confront their arch-enemy All For One, he believes his latest armor, known as “Armored All Might,” will provide the necessary defense.
It’s here we need to remember something huge: All Might is now Quirkless. It’s a detail reaffirmed in episode 20, with Melissa helping him to make a new suit.
Since the last time they fought was in season 3, this final scene from season 7 is one of the most eagerly awaited moments in the series’ history, as we haven’t witnessed their battle since then.
As a passionate cinephile, I must admit, my spirits took a hit when All Might appeared, acting impulsively and without a clear battle plan against him.
Due to his freshly acquired suit, All Might skillfully repels all assaults, a testament to the 1-A students whose names it bears.
In a flashback, All Might recalls his initial encounter with Nana Shimura and the instant he aspired to be her apprentice. He expresses his ambition to serve as an inspiration for others, carrying the weight of being quirkless (similar to our protagonist from season 1).
Following an intense series of fights, All For One seems to gain the advantage, inflicting severe wounds. Yet, the powerful words of All Might echoing within him help Deku persevere and continue battling against his adversary.
He stands upright, chuckling menacingly, obviously intending to keep All For One fully occupied with him.
Annoyingly, this is where we leave the drama… but for how long?
Where is Deku in all of this?
It might feel as though Deku has been forgotten in all of this chaos, but fear not! He’s busy fending off Shigaraki, although it doesn’t feel like that’s going hugely well.
They’re engaged in a significant one-on-one struggle that may decisively conclude this storyline, potentially reshaping it dramatically. With the interface Toga previously utilized, Shigaraki has gained unlimited control over all of his abilities. His primary ambition is to defeat Deku, enabling him to construct his dreamed-of “ideal” world.
As I bear witness, this epic struggle between the combatants remains unresolved, leaving me hanging on the edge of my seat. It seems to me that All Might, in the heat of his final battle, is nearing exhaustion, adding an extra layer of suspense and intensity to the scene.
What happens now?
I’m thrilled to share that my anticipation was validated; it was announced that the eighth season of “My Hero Academia” will commence even before the seventh one concludes.
Unfortunately, I have to share some disappointing news. This is indeed the final season for the anime series (unless there are any movie adaptations, such as “You’re Next,” that could potentially be released in the future).
It’s not all that shocking since the My Hero Academia manga has concluded. So, if you’re truly curious about what’s next, you can advance to see it. To give you an idea, Toga and Ochaco’s battle takes place in Chapter 394.
As a die-hard My Hero Academia fan, I can’t wait to see what unfolds next week. The future of UA Academy remains uncertain, but it’s the nail-biting cliffs of Deku and All Might that have me glued to my seat, eagerly anticipating the next episode.
We’ve already seen Dabi, Toga and Spinner each defeated, but there’s no doubting All For One and Shigaraki are both stronger than any of the long-gone villains.
The final act holds many surprises; it features a significant leap forward in time, a shift in profession, and an inspiring tale of a hero who ultimately triumphs.
