My Hero Academia VA Daiki Yamashita Sheds Light on Deku’s State of Mind in Season 7

As a dedicated fan of My Hero Academia, I eagerly await each new episode, and the recent hiatus due to the 2024 Summer Olympics only served to heighten my anticipation for the upcoming clash between Izuku Midoriya and Shigaraki. The latest season has been nothing short of exhilarating, with twists and turns that have kept me on the edge of my seat.

In simple terms, the seventh season of My Hero Academia briefly paused due to the 2024 Summer Olympics. Now that the games have concluded, there may be no further disruptions in depicting the climactic battle for this shonen series. After a significant plot twist, Izuku Midoriya has returned to UA High School to engage in the season’s most epic clash against Shigaraki. Recently, we at ComicBook spoke with Daiki Yamashita, the voice actor behind Deku, about his portrayal of Midoriya during season seven and how he has adapted his performance for the latest episodes.

In the seventh season of “My Hero Academia,” fans observed a twist in the initial strategy to vanquish Shigaraki and All For One. Instead of Deku hurrying to UA Academy to set a trap for Tomura Shigaraki, he was detained by the cunning Toga, the wielder of One For All. Bakugo’s friends, Froppy and Uravity, managed to create an escape path for Midoriya, allowing him to flee from Toga at top speed and confront Shigaraki. However, it seems that Deku might have arrived too late, as Bakugo is currently fighting for his life after suffering a near-fatal attack.

Daiki Yamashita Talks Deku

During my conversation with Daiki Yamashita, the voice actor, he explained how the ending of Season 6 profoundly impacted him. It left him with a significant feeling that everyone united in the finale, rallied together to support Izuku Midoriya. This unity fostered a powerful emotion within Izuku, and as a result, when he approached Season 7, Yamashita felt that Izuku’s eyes were brimming with more hope than during his solitary battles in Season 6. This newfound strength led him to want to convey that optimism through his voice acting.

I’m absolutely thrilled to say that in the world of “My Hero Academia,” Deku is stronger than ever before, and it’s all thanks to his mastery over his unique Quirks. What makes this even more exciting is the regular chats I have with the Vestiges of One For All. This extra layer of power gives him an unexpected advantage, making me even more eager to see how his story unfolds!
