Embarking on an exciting journey with Studio BONES’ latest anime adaptation, I can’t help but feel a bit melancholic as the manga for “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” has reached its conclusion in 2022. Despite the series wrapping up the stories of its unique heroes, no follow-up series has been announced yet. To commemorate this fresh anime adaptation on our screens, it seems that a new chapter in the manga’s story is set to be released soon!
Although we know that a new chapter is coming, there are still many mysteries to unravel. I can hardly wait to see how the story unfolds and answers to my burning questions will finally be revealed!
In my perspective as an observer, I’m thrilled to share that the original minds behind “Vigilantes,” Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, are set to return with a new one-shot, scheduled for release on Shonen Jump Plus on April 15th in Japan. This isn’t the only exciting news, though. There’s also a one-shot in the pipeline that delves into the older brother of Shoto Todoroki, Natsuya, from the main series. The specific details about these installments are still under wraps, leaving us guessing whether these stories will explore events beyond the finales of each storyline focusing on UA Academy. Without a doubt, the return of Knuckleduster, Pop Step, and Crawler post-“Vigilantes’ finale promises to enrich the shonen genre even further.
Where The New Vigilantes Chapter Could Go
To thoroughly develop the plot for the next chapter of the My Hero Academia spin-off, “Vigilantes,” we’ll delve into some spoiler areas, so beware. In the concluding chapter of the Vigilantes manga, Crawler departs from Japan and makes his way to North America to embark on a new crime-fighting journey. Adopting the name “The Skycrawler,” the main character appears poised for a promising future. Interestingly, his story didn’t end in the spin-off of My Hero Academia.
In the concluding phase of the primary storyline and a subsequent aftermath tale of “My Hero Academia”, the Crawler is expected to reappear. Although Koichi’s role wasn’t significant during the battle against Shigaraki and All For One, he made a brief appearance in the final installment, assisting with the cleanup following the devastation caused by the battle in Japan. Given that Pop Step and Knuckleduster survived the side story, there’s a chance they might resurface in this upcoming segment as well.
My Hero Academia’s Future
At the time this article was published, neither a sequel for “My Hero Academia” nor “Vigilantes” has been officially announced. Although creator Kohei Horikoshi continues to share artwork from his superhero shonen universe, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he intends to reintroduce Deku and the gang. Fortunately, there is enough material in “Vigilantes” to potentially span multiple seasons if Studio BONES chooses to proceed in that direction, implying that Crawler’s story could continue beyond the eighth and final season of the main series.
