Naruto Sparks Boruto’s Heated New Love Triangle (& Maybe Even More)

As a long-time fan who has watched Naruto and Boruto grow from scrappy ninja wannabes to seasoned warriors, I must say that the latest development in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has me absolutely enthralled! The love triangle between Boruto, Sarada, and Sumire is not just adding an exciting new dynamic to the storyline, but it’s also diving deep into the complexities of friendship, loyalty, and unrequited love.

In the ongoing manga series Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the narrative has moved into a significant arc where the tension against the Divine Trees escalates. The latest instalment adds another layer of complexity as Boruto Uzumaki finds himself entangled in a love triangle that could potentially grow larger than anticipated. Meanwhile, the Hidden Leaf Village is gearing up to counter the threat posed by the Divine Tree enemies, but they’ve got little time to waste since the Hidden Sand Village has been targeted by the Divine Trees as well.

In the upcoming mission to rescue Gaara from the latest Divine Tree adversary, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is readying Sarada Uchiha. However, an unexpected encounter with Sumire throws a wrench into her plans. Although neither of them has been influenced by Eida’s all-knowing power, it seems they may be harboring a mutual secret – they both might have romantic feelings for Boruto. It appears that Sumire, in particular, is experiencing a surge of jealousy now that Sarada has reconnected with Boruto after such a long time.

Boruto Puts Sarada and Sumire In a Love Triangle

In Chapter 16 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Sarada and Sumire interact with Eida to gather insights on Boruto’s future actions. Eida reveals that Boruto is intentionally shouldering more risk to keep them safe, but Sumire understands this could make them potential targets due to their open backing for Boruto, perceived as a traitor by the Hidden Leaf Village. This realization prompts Sumire to express her emotions more openly.

She claims Sarada doesn’t really think about Boruto’s feelings, nor about hers either. Sumire then asks why, knowing how much she likes Boruto, that Sarada would leap into his arms the second they see each other after the three year time skip. She had been holding back from asking because she wanted to be respectful of how Sarada felt in the moment, but she can’t help but question why Sarada did this knowing Sumire’s stated feelings for Boruto. Sarada doesn’t know what to say, and Sumire walks away hurt at this since it seems like the two don’t see each other as friends in the same way.

There Might Be More to This Love Triangle

Previously, fans have speculated about the possible romantic feelings Sarada might harbor towards Boruto, but these hints were more subtle in the past due to their young age. Now, as the characters have grown older, this topic is expected to be explored more prominently. Sumire, a friend of Sarada, seems to be worried by this development and was hurt that upon their reunion after many years, it seemed like Sarada had taken a prominent role in Boruto’s life, causing her to believe that Sarada might be a close friend of his. However, Sarada herself may not have seen it in the same light, but it still caused Sumire some distress.

Even though Eida recognizes the uncomfortable predicament, she finds herself both acknowledging its awkwardness and assisting Boruto simultaneously. She’s fully aware of his schemes, yet continues to protect his secrets. Despite her intentions to be with Kawaki romantically, she now sees Boruto in a more comprehensive light. This newfound perception could potentially lead Eida to develop feelings for Boruto as well, thereby complicating the love story into a complex interwoven pattern – be it a love triangle, square, or another intricate shape.
