Ncuti Gatwa and David Tennant go head-to-head for BAFTA Scotland Audience Award

As a long-time Doctor Who enthusiast with a soft spot for Scottish talent, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing the news of David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa going head-to-head at this year’s BAFTA Scotland Awards! With their captivating performances on one of my all-time favorite shows, they’ve both left an indelible mark on the Doctor Who universe.

After the disclosure of the nominees for this year’s BAFTA Scotland Awards, an additional contestant has been added to the roster – and it pits two popular Doctor Who actors against each other.

This year’s BAFTA Scotland Audience Award for Favorite Scottish On-Screen Personality in collaboration with Screen Scotland, the category decided by the public, has David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa as strong contenders.

The pair have been nominated for their contributions to ‘Doctor Who’, but they face competition from five other nominees: Abby Cook for ‘Blue Peter’, Richard Gadd for ‘Baby Reindeer’, Jack Lowden for ‘Slow Horses’, and Ashley Storrie for ‘Dinosaur’.

The candidates were chosen by a neutral panel consisting of Scottish media and cultural connoisseurs, designed to honor the significant Scottish figures whose work resonated with viewers during the previous year.
