If it manages to achieve this feat, it will comfortably outshine Spider-Man: No Way Home’s lifetime gross of $1.9 billion USD. To further add to its luster, should it garner an additional $2.7 billion USD, it would surpass both Avengers: Infinity War and Star Wars: The Force Awakens in terms of global success. Remarkably, this impressive performance is primarily driven by the Chinese market, making its achievements all the more remarkable.
What Is Ne Zha 2 Anyway?
Under the direction of Yu Yang for Beijin Enlight Pictures, Ne Zha 2 serves as a follow-up to the 2019 release Ne Zha, continuing its adaptation of “The Investiture of the Gods,” a collection of tales penned during China’s Ming dynasty. The plotline suggests, “After the celestial thunder, Ne Zha and Ao Bing miraculously survived as Spirits but were destined to vanish completely. Taiyi aims to reconstitute their human forms using the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. Yet, while attempting this restoration, numerous challenges arise. Will the future of Ne Zha and Ao Bing unfold as planned?
