Neighbours airs distressing update for Mackenzie – will she die?

As an ardent Neighbours enthusiast with over two decades of dedication to this Australian soap opera, I must say the recent turn of events has left me quite shaken (pun intended). The dramatic ‘Death in the Outback’ week was indeed a rollercoaster, but it seems the repercussions are far from over.

During the week focused on the Outback on Neighbours, things became incredibly intense and suspenseful. By the end, a character was left in a perilous state, hanging by a thread.

Today, on the 27th of August, 2024, Erinsborough is still feeling the ripples from the events of the previous week, as residents grapple with the aftermath.

Specifically, Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) ended up in the hospital following a shooting incident. The person responsible, Heath, unfortunately met his end at the jaws of a rogue crocodile.

She seemed OK, recovering in care and reuniting with Haz and her friends.

But later on, when Haz paid her another visit, she was sweating considerably and shaking.

She inquired from Haz whether the room was warm, and upon doing so, the barista understood that she was overheating and started summoning a nurse instead.

Soon afterward, Mackenzie collapsed limply in his arms, while the monitor nearby emitted a worrying beep.

Will Mackenzie pull through?

The story mainly revolved around Toadie (Ryan Moloney), who came close to meeting his own demise, leading him to take a fresh look at his existence.

Following some introspection and a revelation, he realized that he couldn’t continue his relationship with Terese anymore, so he ended it.

On today’s Good Morning Britain, Moloney talked about his departure, sharing that Neighbours has essentially become his lifelong journey.

He shared that he began working on the show at the age of 15, which means it’s played a significant role in his life ever since. On a personal level, he’s gotten married, had children, established farms, and picked up various other skills. Essentially, the show has become a big part of his life journey.

“I’ve spent more time on Neighbours than I have off.”

Neighbours continues on Amazon Freevee every Monday to Thursday from 7am.
