As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been buzzing with anticipation about Naughty Dog’s future ventures, and here’s an exciting tidbit: Neil Druckmann, the mastermind behind The Last of Us, has hinted he’s diving into another project at the studio!
Neil Druckmann is not just appointed as a director for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but he has also confirmed his involvement will be more in the capacity of a producer for an additional, yet undisclosed project.
Here’s part of what he had to say during a chat with the Press X to Continue podcast this week:
Additionally, there’s a project under development at Naughty Dog where I take on a more producer-like role. This allows me to mentor another team, offer guidance, provide feedback, and act as the decision-maker in meetings. I relish these roles, and the fact that I switch between them keeps my job stimulating and prevents boredom.
In March, there was a story that hinted Shaun Escayg, known for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, might be overseeing another undisclosed game at Naughty Dog. Additionally, Anthony Newman, who worked on The Last of Us: Part II, could also be involved in the studio’s upcoming, yet unnamed projects.
Initially, Naughty Dog revealed they were working on more than one single-player game for the PlayStation 5 in 2023, following their decision to discontinue the development of The Last of Us’ multiplayer component.
