Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys Comic Series Canceled Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

It’s been reported that Neil Gaiman is no longer associated with Dark Horse Comics, following allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by several women.

The publishing company declared in an official release that all further partnerships involving Neil Gaiman have been terminated, encompassing future instalments of the Anansi Boys comic series, which is based on his self-titled novel.

Gaiman has strongly denied all allegations of engaging in non-consensual sex or illegal conduct.

Dark Horse acknowledges the accusations against Neil Gaiman, and as a result, will no longer be releasing his books. This decision includes the cancellation of the ‘Anansi Boys’ comic series and its compilation.

This month, a comprehensive piece appeared in New York Magazine, shedding light on various accusations directed towards Neil Gaiman. The accusations encompassed instances where it was alleged that he indulged in “aggressive” sexual activities and BDSM without the party’s consent. Previously, similar claims were presented in a Tortoise Media podcast.

Following the release of the article, Gaiman quickly released a statement where he refuted the allegations. He explained that he had remained silent up until then, showing respect towards those narrating their experiences and avoiding further amplification of numerous falsehoods.

He went on saying: “While going through the new set of narratives, there are instances where I seem to vaguely recall and instances where I do not, depictions of events that transpired alongside events that indisputably did not take place.

I may not be flawless, but I can assure you that I’ve never participated in any form of sexual activity without consent. Not once.

In truth, some accounts being shared today are entirely fabricated, while others have been twisted beyond recognition, losing all connection to actual events.

I’m ready to own up to any mistakes I’ve made. I won’t shy away from the truth, I refuse to be misrepresented, and I will never claim responsibility for actions that I did not perform.

Gaiman’s full statement is published on his blog.

The Amazon Prime Video series “Good Omens,” co-authored by Neil Gaiman and the late Sir Terry Pratchett, revealed changes in its production schedule as allegations surfaced in October. As a result, Gaiman stepped away from the show, and instead of continuing with a third season, the story will conclude in a single 90-minute finale episode.

According to current expectations, Gaiman’s Netflix show The Sandman is yet to receive an official announcement regarding its release. However, it appears that the second season, which has been completed filming, may debut sometime this year. Additionally, a Prime Video adaptation for Anansi Boys is also anticipated.
