The selection of Marvel films available on Netflix is going to significantly diminish. While Disney+ has emerged as the primary platform for Marvel content, Netflix has previously relied on several titles from Sony’s Marvel universe to create a strong superhero collection. However, most of the Marvel movies currently streaming on Netflix are not highly rated by fans, and all of the decent options are scheduled to leave Netflix in the next 24 hours.
Netflix has disclosed the complete lineup of content parting ways in May, with a significant portion leaving at the beginning of the month. Included among these early departures are the entire trilogy of Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films, as well as the Oscar-nominated animated film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
On May 1st, our platform is removing all four Spider-Man films, so Wednesday marks the last chance to stream them. Afterward, only the controversial Sony Marvel Universe movies from the previous year will remain on Netflix. Titles like Madame Web, Venom: The Last Dance, and Kraven the Hunter will still be available, but that’s not particularly thrilling news for many Marvel enthusiasts.
Great news! You can watch all the Raimi-directed Spider-Man movies right now on Disney+. On Thursday, ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ will also become available there, just after it leaves Netflix. If you don’t have a subscription yet, you can easily sign up here.
What’s Leaving Netflix in May?
The Spider-Man films represent substantial losses for Netflix, but they aren’t the only titles being removed. Titles such as Wedding Crashers, Erin Brockovich, Blade Runner, and others are also set to leave the platform in just a few days.
