As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Joe Manganiello as the host for Netflix Geeked Week 2024 has left me quite thrilled! With his diverse background in both acting and hosting roles, he’s got the perfect blend of charisma and geekiness to make this event a memorable one.
This month sees the arrival of Netflix’s annual Geeked Week celebration, happening live in Atlanta on September 19th, with broadcasts reaching every corner of the globe via YouTube, Twitch, and X. As Netflix prepares for this year’s excitement, they’re gradually revealing more details about the event, such as who will be our star host for Geeked Week.
On the morning of Monday next week, Netflix announced that Joe Manganiello will serve as the host for Netflix Geeked Week 2024. Primarily recognized for his performances in the Magic Mike movies, his collaborations with Dungeons & Dragons, and portraying Flash Thompson within Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, Manganiello has recently been taking on a number of hosting projects.
Lately, Manganiello has been instrumental in launching a hit run for the new reality series, “Deal or No Deal Island.” Beyond his role as an executive producer, he is also the show’s presenter, assuming the role of the well-known Banker and guiding contestants through various games and challenges.
During Geeked Week, we’ll shine a spotlight on various upcoming Netflix productions, including beloved series coming back for fresh episodes. Shows such as One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Black Mirror are all in the process of creating new seasons right now.
Beyond Manganiello as the main host, Netflix has also prepared a couple of “reporting agents” and an array of guests for the entire event. The stars of Cobra Kai, Xolo Maridue?a and Jacob Bertrand, will function as the reporting agents during Netflix Geeked Week, collaborating with Manganiello. Given these two correspondents’ involvement, it wouldn’t be surprising to catch some Cobra Kai-related updates, as the second half of the highly popular show’s sixth and final season is due out later this fall.
Among the exciting celebrities announced by Netflix, I’m particularly thrilled to see myself mentioned alongside them! Here are some familiar faces from shows like “It’s What’s Inside”, “Black Mirror”, “Avatar: The Last Airbender”, “Don’t Move”, and more. There’s Alycia Debnam-Carey, Brittany O’Grady, Charlie Brooker, Dallas Liu, Finn Wittrock, Gavin Leatherwood, Ian Ousley, James Morosini, Jeff Ward, Kelsey Asbille, Kirby (from “The Sandman”), Kofi Kingston (WWE), Matt Owens, Tom Sturridge, Xavior Woods (also from WWE), and Zack Snyder.
