Netflix Teases The Series Finale of One of Its Biggest Anime Originals

As someone who has been following the evolving landscape of animated television for quite some years now, it is always a bittersweet moment when a beloved series comes to an end, especially one as captivating and unique as Blood of Zeus. Having witnessed the rise and fall of numerous shows over the years, I can confidently say that this Greek mythology-inspired animated series has left an indelible mark on the genre.

Just as every great story eventually concludes, so too must the successful run of Netflix‘s original animated shows come to an end. Over time, Netflix has made a significant impact in the realm of original programming, particularly in the animation sector, where popular series like Arcane, Castlevania, Bojack Horseman, Big Mouth, Blue-Eyed Samurai, and Dragon Prince have captured the hearts of many viewers. Regrettably, one of Netflix’s beloved animated properties has declared that it will conclude with its third season in the upcoming year.

The animated series “Blood of Zeus” debuted on Netflix in 2020, and although its second season came out earlier this year, it took some time to do so. It was recently confirmed that the third and final season will wrap up in 2025. To keep viewers excited, a sneak peek has been released for the upcoming season, which promises an intense continuation of the story based on Greek mythology. Amusingly, when a fan asked about the scale of this final season, the “Blood of Zeus” social media account boasted that it would be a “10+” in terms of hype. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the series yet, it is highly recommended as both seasons received perfect ratings from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Blood of Zeus: A Perfect Outing For The Gods

In our own assessment, we found that “Blood of Zeus” was an exceptionally thrilling journey. Concluding our earlier analysis, we awarded it a perfect score of 5 out of 5. This series, one of Netflix’s original anime productions, demonstrates the exhilarating outcomes when a strong concept is allowed to push the boundaries of the medium. By forging its own distinct path separate from similar shows, “Blood of Zeus” has paved the way for an exciting new era in anime on Netflix.

If you find the animation style in “Blood of Zeus” seems reminiscent, it’s because Powerhouse Animation played a significant role in its production. In the past, Powerhouse has collaborated with Netflix on various projects like “Castlevania,” “Skull Island,” “Seis Manos,” “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft,” and “Masters of The Universe.” Although “Blood of Zeus” may not be as well-known, some critics might argue it’s the studio’s finest work to date. Blood of Zeus Creators Speak

The animated series “Blood of Zeus” was brought to life by the creative minds of Charley and Vlas Paralapenides. Upon its initial release, our team at egmr.ru had an exciting opportunity to converse with these talented individuals, with Charley expressing that realizing this animated series was a long-cherished dream.

“Listen, for us, this was just a dream come true. We’ve always loved the genre. We’ve always loved anime. I know there’s some debate, whether you can call this an anime, we’ve always loved 2D, hand-drawn, whether it’s from Japan, whether it’s made here. For me, the beauty of 2D animation over say 3D CGI, it’s like night day. And so we’ve always just loved these stories. And what we’ve always believed is that we live in this time where comic book heroes dominate the landscape. And for us, Greek mythology is the language of superheroes because that’s where all this really came from.”
