This summer, a highly anticipated romance titled “The Blossoming Magnolia with Grace” is set to debut. The story promises to be a touching and beautiful adaptation of the genre that has left fans eagerly anticipating its release.

Beginning July 5, 2025, the eagerly-awaited anime series will unfold, as confirmed through a fresh promotional video unveiled by the official X (formerly Twitter) account and website. The captivating opening theme song “Manazashi wa Hikari” (The Gaze is a Light), sung by Tatsuya Kitani (Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen), and the enchanting ending theme song “Hare no Hi ni” (On This Sunny Day) by UshioReira, will accompany this anime. Excitingly, the anime will be accessible globally on Netflix upon its initial Japanese release.

Under the creative wing of Cloverworks, a studio renowned for its stunning visuals on series such as Horimiya, My Dress-Up Darling, Wonder Egg Priority, and numerous others, this upcoming production is taking shape. Miyuki Kuroki takes the helm as director, with Satoshi Yamaguchi supporting in an assistant director role. Kōhei Tokuoka brings our characters to life through his character design, Rino Yamazaki pens the script, and Moeki Harada adds depth through her composition of the music.

The neighboring schools, Chidori Public High School and Kikyo Private Academy for Girls, hold starkly contrasting images—Chidori often associated with rowdy, working-class boys, while Kikyo is renowned as a sanctuary for well-mannered young ladies. These institutions have fostered a longstanding rivalry over the years. In an unexpected turn of events, Chidori student Rintarō Tsumugi encounters Kaoruko Waguri at his family’s bakery and is taken aback when she acknowledges his kindness. After shielding her from a group of bullies, he discovers that she attends Kikyo. Disregarding their contrasting social statuses, the two students find themselves drawn to each other, intrigued by the mysteries that lie within their respective worlds.
