Netflix’s Devil May Cry Drops New Sneak Peek Ahead of Premiere

In just a short while, Netflix’s “Devil May Cry” animated series will make its debut on our screens, and to build excitement for its premiere, they’ve released a fresh preview. Based upon the renowned Japanese video game series with the same title, this series spans eight episodes and delves into the narrative of the beloved mercenary devil-hunter, Dante. In this installment, he encounters a new menace in the shape of the potent demon known as White Rabbit.

The Netflix premiere of the series is set for April 3rd, where it will be available exclusively. From what we’ve seen so far, the storyline appears to focus on a younger version of Dante, similar to his portrayal in the Devil May Cry 3 video game. However, unlike a prequel, this series will diverge from the main storyline and be categorized as part of an alternative universe or “bootleg multiverse.” Despite this departure from the original narrative, fans are still eagerly awaiting the series premiere, and Netflix has released a sneak peek to pique our curiosity. You can watch it below.

Everything To Know About Netflix’s Devil May Cry

After Adi Shankar’s Devil May Cry unveiled a new sneak peek, it seems to have all that fans hoped for and more. The clip opens with Dante enjoying a strawberry sundae, subtly recalling the original 2007 Devil May Cry: The Animated Series. For the first time, we catch a glimpse of an animated Vergil character while ‘Bury the Light’ plays in the background. Regrettably, this isn’t the genuine Vergil; however, Dante’s twin might potentially appear later in the series.

In the latest update, the lady character will play a key role and her appearance, reminiscent of the 2007 anime, is quite eye-catching. Interestingly, she’s now portrayed as a human soldier equipped with a high-tech armored suit, a significant departure from her classic, yet iconic, modified school uniform look. On the other hand, the antagonist is White Rabbit, a powerful demon who takes on an anthropomorphic rabbit form and controls a demon army. Similar to other Devil May Cry villains, his goal is to open the gates of hell to unleash a demonic invasion on Earth.

Switching Nero’s voice actor in the “Devil May Cry” series might initially feel strange for some devoted fans, but Johnny Yong Bosch delivers Dante’s one-liners with an impressive finesse. The opening theme of the anime is “Rollin'” by Limp Bizkit. The show’s soundtrack includes a fresh track by Evanescence called “Afterlife,” along with a groovy mix of popular hits from the year 2000 that original “Devil May Cry” enthusiasts will love.
