Netflix’s Funniest New Comedy Is Finally Back (And Season 2 Is Even Better)

After a year’s absence, the most hilarious new comedy show on Netflix is back for its second season, leaving fans in disbelief over how much better it’s getting. The show I’m referring to is “Tires”, the office-based comedy created by Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, and McKeever. In this series, Gerben and Gillis play employees of an auto repair chain struggling to stay afloat day by day. Their on-screen dynamic has rapidly become one of the funniest character pairings on TV.

Last year, the show titled “Tires” premiered on Netflix with only six episodes, giving off an impression of a preliminary test rather than a full-fledged season. Despite this, the series is relatively low in cost to produce and doesn’t need to be as big a success as “Stranger Things” to provide Netflix with a substantial profit. Notably, it was renewed for a second season before its premiere, which bodes well for the future of “Tires”.

2025 saw the continuation of impressive success for the TV series “Tires,” as its second season premiered on Netflix a week ago. In keeping with their dedication to the show, Netflix upped the ante for Season 2, providing 12 episodes instead of the usual six. This decision has allowed “Tires” to delve deeper into an ongoing narrative and attract some high-profile guest stars. The move has proven fruitful for the streaming service as “Tires” has been consistently ranking among Netflix’s top TV shows since its return on June 5th. On this week’s Top 10 TV Shows list, “Tires” takes the number two spot in North America.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the second season of “Tires” has doubled its length and garnered even more popularity, making it an exceptional improvement over the already impressive Season 1. Gerben seizes a larger platform to showcase his character’s confident side, while Gillis delves into the less-explored insecurities that add depth to his persona. Both characters are granted sufficient screen time to evolve, resulting in a funnier and more nuanced portrayal this season.

In the second season of Tires, a multitude of comedy heavyweights lend their talents as guest stars. Thomas Haden Church appears for multiple episodes, playing the father of Gillis’ mechanic, who becomes pivotal to the show by showing interest in the business and developing into one of its key characters. Additionally, Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, Ron White, and others make appearances throughout this season. Given the success of the series in this second installment, it’s highly probable that even more renowned guests will join us for Season 3.

Currently on Netflix, there are some fantastic comedies you might want to check out, such as “Survival of the Thickest” and “Running Point”. While these shows are definitely worth your time, it’s “Tires” that really stands out as the most hilarious. The humor in this series is quite dark at times and intentionally provocative, but it always avoids making fun of vulnerable groups – a common oversight in similar comedies.

If you’re looking for something amusing, I recommend adding the series called “Tires” to your Netflix queue, as Season 2 has just been released. You might find yourself unable to resist watching it all at once!
