New Alien: Earth Teaser Highlights the Moments Before Impact (And Confirms Immersive Fan Event)

In a fictional setting, extraterrestrial beings are arriving on Earth with no means for us to prevent it. This scenario takes place within the universe of the movie series ‘Alien’. Following the revival of the film franchise due to ‘Alien: Romulus’, the popular sci-fi/horror saga is moving to television under the title ‘Alien: Earth‘. The upcoming TV adaptation by Noah Hawley, generating much anticipation, will be aired on Hulu this summer. Mysterious previews for the show have been spreading across the web.

On Thursday mornings, Hulu and FX unveiled another short sneak peek for Alien: Earth. This time, not just hinting at its upcoming arrival, but also disclosing an engrossing experience scheduled for SXSW in the coming month. Check it out in the video above!

The interactive event is scheduled for March 7th and 8th in Austin, Texas during SXSW. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to investigate the ship wreckage that introduced Xenomorphs to Earth. After being screened for any alien parasites, participants will receive their credentials and instructions, leading them on a mission through the debris where they can encounter real alien specimens. However, keep in mind that not every creature made it through the crash unscathed; a containment breach has occurred, and hidden perils await within.

Hawley has discussed at length the terrifying new type of horror the Xenomorphs will bring in the upcoming series ‘Alien: Earth.’ In an interview with Deadline last year, the highly productive TV creator shared insights on why these iterations of the creatures are set to be more chilling than ever.

Hawley remarked, ‘Spotting a Xenomorph in Earth’s wilderness is an experience like no other.’ It sends shivers down my spine just imagining it living amongst us. I can’t reveal how or when, but trust me, you will encounter it. And on that night, you’ll make sure to lock your door.

He found great joy in interacting with the creature and infusing his own ideas into its design, while keeping the overall shape untouched since that’s sacred. However, certain features, depending on the host, influence the final form of the creature. He simply wanted to experiment a bit to make it as terrifyingly scary as possible.

The movie “Alien: Earth” features Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El in the starring roles.
