New Animal Crossing LEGO Sets Announced

As a longtime fan of both Animal Crossing and LEGO, I can’t help but feel like my birthday has come early this year! The prospect of building these charming villages brick by brick is an absolute dream come true. My wallet might not be so thrilled about it, but my heart is already filled with joy at the thought of these new sets.

For Nintendo enthusiasts, there’s plenty to rejoice about this morning! LEGO unveiled not only six Mario Kart series sets but also three new ones based on Animal Crossing. Just like the Mario Kart sets, these Animal Crossing editions will hit stores on January 1st, 2025. These new builds will allow fans to recreate iconic game locations and introduce Minifigures of characters not previously featured. Among them are beloved figures such as Mabel, Celeste, and Leif. The following is the list of sets along with their respective prices:

  • 77053 LEGO Animal Crossing – Stargazing with Celeste – $9.99, 78 pieces
  • 77054 LEGO Animal Crossing – Leif’s Caravan & Garden Shop – $29.99, 263 pieces
  • 77055 LEGO Animal Crossing – Able Sisters Clothing Shop – $39.99, 322 pieces

As a lifelong fan of both Nintendo games and LEGO sets, I must say that this year has been truly exciting for us enthusiasts! The arrival of the first Animal Crossing LEGO sets was like a dream come true, marking the first time a Nintendo game outside of the Super Mario franchise received such treatment. And let me tell you, seeing classic style Minifigures of my beloved Nintendo characters was nothing short of magical!

Back when I was just starting out as a gamer, over two decades ago, the Animal Crossing video game series had already made its mark. Though Nintendo’s games were consistently popular, it was with the arrival of “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” in 2020 that the series truly hit the big time, selling an astounding 44 million copies and spawning a whole bunch of merchandise. It’s been over four years since its release, but we don’t usually get new Animal Crossing games for each console – only one per system, with occasional spin-offs. But here’s the thing: Nintendo’s got a brand-new system in the works, and rumors are swirling that it might drop as early as 2025! Given how massive “New Horizons” was, I’m pretty certain we’ll see another Animal Crossing game for this new system within a few years. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the world of Animal Crossing!
