The batch of brand new animated wallpapers now appear to be available for everyone.
On the main page, you’ll notice an announcement informing you about fresh background options; click it to explore and discover they’re all connected to original PlayStation games.
In addition to the Astro Bot that’s always been present, you now have the option to customize your Welcome screen using wallpapers inspired by various themes:
- Days Gone
- Demon’s Souls
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Ghost of Yotei
- God of War Ragnarok
- Horizon Call of the Mountain
- Horizon Forbidden West
- LEGO Horizon Adventures
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Rise of the Ronin
- Stellar Blade
- MLB The Show 25
That’s quite impressive! While it might not be the personalized themes everyone dreams of, it’s still a step up from nothing, and it’s great to see Sony expanding their offerings. Which one are you leaning towards?
Did you know? The home screen of your PS5 can be made more appealing with various background options, including animated ones. It seems like Sony is planning to add more choices soon.
First discovered by users @chi_m02 and @Genki_JPN online, it seems that select PlayStation 5 gamers are receiving fresh animated backgrounds. This update appears to be part of a gradual release process.
At present, everyone can utilize an Astro Bot-themed animated backdrop (alongside a few others showcasing PlayStation symbols). However, additional titles such as Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and many more are set to be included in the collection.
It’s unclear exactly which accounts will receive early access to these additional backgrounds, but as of now, we at Push Square don’t possess them. It seems inevitable that they’ll eventually be distributed to all users.
We’ll update this story once the new animated backgrounds are more widely available.
