New Battlefield Game Should Launch Before April 2026

EA has announced that it will unveil its upcoming Battlefield game for public testing in Battlefield Labs, which is expected to launch before the conclusion of the fiscal year 2026. This information was disclosed through EA’s third-quarter earnings report, where they specified the new title is slated for release within the timeframe spanning April 2025 to March 2026’s end.

At the video’s end, a brief sneak peek was given regarding Battlefield Labs, which is currently accepting registrations. EA DICE aims to evaluate “fundamental gameplay aspects such as core combat and environmental damage, followed by fine-tuning weapon, vehicle, and gadget balance and feedback. The ultimate goal is to harmonize these elements across our maps, modes, and team play.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming collaboration among four internal teams at EA – DICE, Motion, Criterion, and Ripple Effect – forming Battlefield Studios. This powerhouse group is collectively working on the next game in the Battlefield series. Notably, Criterion, known for their exceptional work on the latest Need for Speed games, has decided to put the Need for Speed series on hold temporarily to pour all their energy into the first-person shooter (FPS) genre.

Based on the current development stage with Battlefield Labs and EA, it is unlikely that the upcoming game will be released before the end of this year. Assuming no unexpected delays, we can anticipate the launch happening in the first quarter of 2026 according to the newly revealed release window.
