New Bethesda Game May Tease Two Settings for The Elder Scrolls 6

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Elder Scrolls adventures under my belt, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation when it comes to The Elder Scrolls 6. Six long years we’ve waited, and while Bethesda has kept us guessing, the latest developments are certainly pointing towards Hammerfell and possibly High Rock as our next destination.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the next installment in The Elder Scrolls series, and it looks like my patience might finally pay off! It’s been six long years since Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls VI, but with Starfield finally out of the way, they’re now focusing on TES6. That means we should be hearing some news about it soon. In the meantime, it seems like Bethesda is dropping some hints or “teases” to keep us on our toes!

In 2021, Bethesda introduced “The Elder Scrolls: Castles”, a mobile game with a free-to-play model that shares similarities to “Fallout Shelter”. In this game, you assume the role of a ruler over your own castle, among other duties. For your castle, there are two distinct styles to choose from – one resembling the Redguard culture and another that appears to be Breton in style. This is intriguing because earlier hints and speculation have pointed towards the game being set in Hammerfell and potentially High Rock as well.

So far, the most conspicuous hint was found in an early Starfield trailer. In this clip, a character is depicted piloting a vessel, and on the side of the ship, there appears to be a small drawing. Initially, it seems like worn paint, but upon closer inspection, it reveals a rough outline of High Rock, Iliac Bay, and Hammerfell.

Is there a chance that “The Elder Scrolls: Castle” is hinting at the upcoming release of “The Elder Scrolls 6,” or simply preparing for future content? Either way, many clues are pointing in this direction, leading fans on Reddit and elsewhere to believe that the game could be set in Hammerfell, and possibly High Rock as well.

For those new to the realms, Hammerfell stands out as the land of the Redguard. Situated in the west, it shares borders with Skyrim in the northeast, Cyrodiil in the east and southeast, and High Rock to its north. The region presents a variety of landscapes, but is most famed for the arid and unforgiving Alik’r Desert. Conversely, High Rock is the domain of the Bretons and lies adjacent to Hammerfell alone. Geographically, it boasts less diversity, primarily comprising forests, countryside, and extensive coastlines.

Given what we’ve seen thus far, it wouldn’t shock us if The Elder Scrolls 6 takes place in Hammerfell. What remains uncertain, however, is whether this will be the sole location or if other provinces like High Rock might also be featured. The title The Elder Scrolls 6: Castles could hint at multiple locations being explored.
