As an observer, I’m thrilled to share that this year, “Chainsaw Man” will grace the big screens globally with its movie premiere! Summer is approaching, and we’re eagerly anticipating some exciting updates for “Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc.” In 2022, the anime adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s “Chainsaw Man” was one of the most buzzworthy anime releases. Unsurprisingly, we learned that this captivating series would carry on with a new venture; however, what took us by surprise was the announcement that this continuation wouldn’t be a second season for the TV series, but rather a groundbreaking feature film instead.
Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc” is set to premiere globally this Fall, with MAPPA planning a special panel at Anime Expo 2025 in July to generate excitement for the movie release. When Does the New Chainsaw Man Movie Come Out?
At the MAPPA panel during Anime Expo 2025, it’s uncertain what kind of information will be revealed, but there’s a possibility we might get a substantial update like a full trailer. So far, we’ve only been treated to short glimpses of the upcoming movie since its production was announced, and with its release date set for Japanese theaters on September 19th, it seems likely that we’ll receive more significant information on such a widely-reached platform as Anime Expo. Regardless of what specific details are shared, any new insights are eagerly anticipated at this stage.
On October 29th, Sony Pictures Entertainment will debut “Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc” in the U.S., keeping a relatively short interval from its release in Japan. At present, international screening dates for this movie are still undisclosed. However, Tatsuya Yoshihara, who previously worked on the Chainsaw Man TV series, will return as director for “Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc” at studio MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko pens the script, Kazutaka Sugiyama designs the characters, and kensuke ushio takes charge of the music composition.
What Is the New Chainsaw Man Movie About?
Regarding the plot of “Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc”, MAPPA hints that the movie could unfold as follows: Denji, now a devil-hearted Chainsaw Man and part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters, finds himself on a date with his dream woman, Makima. In a moment of respite from their adventure, they seek shelter during a rainstorm, where Denji encounters Reze, a café worker. For fans who have read Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, the film is expected to encompass the entirety of the Bomb Devil arc.
Excitedly speaking, I can’t wait for the upcoming movie of “Chainsaw Man”! It continues right where the first season of the anime left off, and we have a new character joining the mix – Reze, played by Reina Ueda. Although she made a quick appearance in the final episode of the TV show, this film will be her grand entrance! So, if you haven’t already, now’s the perfect time to binge-watch the first season, which is currently streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll and Hulu!
