Currently, you can download the latest update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5. However, after a long period of silence from Capcom (except for the game’s first anniversary which was quite uneventful), this update isn’t the one that instills immediate optimism about the game’s future prospects.
Weighing in at a meagre 454MB, the update comes with just a single patch note:
- Fixing issue where sometimes items can’t be selected correctly on the item selection menu if a very large number of items are possessed.
Well, we’re glad that’s sorted!
In all honesty, it seems crucial that Capcom shares its intentions—either about ongoing plans or absence of them—with gamers. If Dragon’s Dogma 2 had clearly been shelved months ago without these occasional, unusual updates, there would be no doubt left in our minds that it’s time to move on from the project.
Even though it’s evident that a group is continuing to develop the game, this suggests that optimism persists. Optimism for significant upgrades, and anticipation for the crucial expansion. The loop continues…
At this stage, are you still keeping some optimism about a possible Dragon’s Dogma 2? And did the recent minor update leave you feeling tricked, similar to what many of us experienced? Remember not to underestimate the importance of your companions in the discussion that follows.
