Initially, when Justin Baldoni suggested that the concept of Nicepool, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, was inspired by him, many people dismissed it as a joke. However, with fresh information surfacing – such as a deleted scene that makes direct references to Baldoni’s actual podcast – this theory is becoming increasingly plausible.
If this is accurate, it brings up a much larger question: Was Disney and Marvel aware that they were part of a public humiliation campaign aimed at Baldoni, which was high-profile and malicious in nature?
If it were known that Marvel agreed to create a character intended as a jab at someone embroiled in a legal dispute, this decision could significantly tarnish the studio’s reputation, which was already facing challenges, further damaging their public standing.
