New Hellboy: The Crooked Man Poster Released

As a lifelong fan of the Hellboy franchise, I must admit that my anticipation for “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” is at an all-time high! With each new actor stepping into the red leather suit, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this dark and twisted saga.

This year may not offer a plethora of fresh instalments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC universe, but there are still several intriguing genre movies to anticipate, like the upcoming “Hellboy: The Crooked Man”. Recently, Total Film unveiled an exclusive poster for this forthcoming adventure on Twitter, providing a detailed glimpse of actor Jack Kesy’s portrayal of the beloved character, along with a sneak peek at his reliable firearm. Additionally, the post confirmed that the film will hit UK theaters on September 27th, although a specific US release date is yet to be announced. You can view the new poster for “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” below.

A fascinating aspect about the latest Hellboy poster is that it indicates this film is actually the fourth installment in the series. Previous live-action films featuring Ron Perlman and another starring David Harbour are also part of the franchise. The question among fans now revolves around whether these movies share a common storyline or if each new actor brings their own unique mythology to the table.

In the film “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” Kesy shares screen time with Jefferson White, Adeline Rudolph, Joseph Marcell, Leah McNamara, Hannah Margetson, and Martin Bassindale. This production is helmed by director Brian Taylor.

Regarding any concerns viewers may harbor about the fit of the upcoming Hellboy movie within its established lore, the series’ creator, Mike Mignola, has stated that The Crooked Man is the most faithful adaptation of the comics to date.

“[What I found most delightful was] witnessing how accurately it resembles the comics. There are numerous scenes that mimic comic panels, which often leaves one apprehensive, especially when you’re touting it as your favorite story, about potential losses.” Mignola expressed this to Screen Rant at San Diego Comic-Con. “However, all the moments from the comics that I cherish are included. As I watched, I found myself holding my breath, genuinely amazed. I even had the opportunity to preview the footage, not set visits, but daily takes, and I was thinking, ‘I can’t believe this! Oh my goodness, they’ve managed to incorporate it and will it remain in the final cut when they edit the movie?'”

He went on saying, “There was a special moment in the church that I cherished deeply. I wondered, ‘Will they enhance this scene with visual effects?’ It’s such a peaceful, unassuming moment. Given its simplicity, it might have been omitted, but it remained throughout the entire film… Not that I didn’t enjoy the other movies or appreciate parts from them, but it was just… I felt incredibly thankful to see someone who genuinely wanted to include [it], because at times people promise, ‘Yes, we’ll bring your comic to the screen,’ but this is when it finally came true.”

Stay tuned for updates on Hellboy: The Crooked Man before it lands in theaters later this year.
