The name of the next James Bond game has now been confirmed — it’s called 007 First Light.
The first plot details have been revealed. And, better yet, a full reveal is coming very soon!
The upcoming James Bond video game is currently being crafted by IO Interactive, known for their recent work on the Hitman series.
They excel at designing imaginative sandbox games that offer numerous strategies for completing tasks, and now they have the legitimate authority to eliminate characters.
Previously referred to as “Project 007”, this game now has its official name. Adjusting to the title “First Light” might require a bit of time.
On top of the name being nailed on, we also know the first plot details as of today.
The game’s official description on X (previously known as Twitter) suggests that you play through an origin story of James Bond, with the hashtag #EarnTheNumber being a part of 007 First Light.
Indeed, it’s clear that 007 First Light is an account of James Bond’s beginnings, where we find the renowned agent starting off in the initial phases of his career, striving to prove himself worthy of the designation “007.
At this point, it remains uncertain who will take on the role of James Bond in the game or what model they will resemble.
With Daniel Craig’s departure, the stage is now set for fresh talents to imprint their unique style onto the iconic character of James Bond, making it an exciting time for both fans and aspiring actors alike.
Is it possible that the game will feature an official James Bond theme song? We certainly hope so! What location will serve as the backdrop? Who will take on the role of the antagonist? And will there be hidden references for devoted fans to discover? Will any elements from GoldenEye 64 make a reappearance in this new version? All these questions can only be answered with the passing of time.

According to the official press release we received, the “unveiling of the game” is scheduled for this coming week.
At what specific time will that event take place? It’s expected to occur during the Summer Game Fest, happening this coming Friday evening in Los Angeles.
From a UK time zone perspective, the main Summer Game Fest live stream will air quite late in the day. So, we expect to catch the trailer and more during our Saturday morning wake-up hours.
