The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially unveiled following numerous speculations, and it’s safe to say that its new design is quite stylish. Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn’t disclosed any new games, specifications or pricing for the console just yet. Instead, they’ve hinted at a detailed reveal in April. Notably, Mario Kart was seen running in the background during the presentation.
What’s significant here goes beyond just verifying that Switch 2 runs Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Given the differences in character models, expanded tracks, and a visual style for Donkey Kong reminiscent of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it seems this version might offer an enhanced gaming experience or even be a different game altogether.
Additionally, you’ll notice an increase in the number of racers from the typical 12, now up to 15. This expansion could mean that Nintendo’s latest console is capable of accommodating a larger number of racers, potentially even up to 18, 20, or 24. The prospect of increased chaos and competition is quite exciting!
There’s no confirmed launch date yet for the Nintendo Switch 2, but it could be released as early as this year, possibly in June. Starting from April, select cities will have an opportunity to try out the new console firsthand. For additional information, click here.
