New Marvel Rivals Update Fixes Issues With Maps, Heroes, and More

As a seasoned gamer with years of Marvel-themed battles under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of relief and anticipation upon hearing about the latest update for Marvel Rivals. After diving headfirst into its chaotic yet thrilling world last week, I’ve encountered more than a few hiccups that have slowed down the gameplay experience.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that I just got word about an exciting update for Marvel Rivals! It’s now live and has bumped the version up to 20241210. Since its launch just last week, this update is all about ironing out the wrinkles we players might have stumbled upon. The main focus seems to be on enhancing the game’s maps, particularly addressing a problem that was causing some of us to get stuck in certain areas. NetEase Games assures us that they’ve tackled this issue, although they warn that further adjustments may still be necessary to ensure it’s fully sorted out. They’ve also fixed other map-related problems, such as the pesky fog in the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map. Let’s dive back into the action and enjoy the improvements!

Apart from addressing several map-related problems, some minor troubleshooting has been carried out regarding the Marvel Rivals cast. Mostly, these are relatively insignificant issues such as voice lines and sound effects not playing as intended. However, there have been a few more conspicuous ones, particularly for characters like Captain America, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange, who were experiencing recurring problems known as the Ultimates. The issues concerning Captain America and Black Widow appear to have been completely addressed, but for Doctor Strange, a temporary solution has been implemented until a subsequent update becomes available.

It should be noted that this update is exclusively focused on fixing bug issues. That means players should not expect anything in terms of new content. However, NetEase has noted that the next patch will feature some new content, but there have been no clues just yet on what it might be. Full patch notes from the game’s official website can be found below:

GENERAL

During playback, there was noticeable crosshair movement and potential lag, but that problem is now behind us.

MAPS & GAME MODES

On specific game maps like Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven and Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface, there were instances where player characters would get stuck or pass through the edges, leading to strange locations. Although we’ve mostly addressed these problems, since they occur in multiple maps and areas, similar glitches might still exist elsewhere. We are committed to resolving such issues further and finding a comprehensive solution to prevent them from happening again.

In the misty realms of the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda: Hela and Birnin T’Challa,

At Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven – Frozen Airfield, an anomaly occurred when a player was knocked out while approaching a target zone, causing the lighting effects to behave strangely. However, this problem has now been fixed.

· Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven – Eldritch Monument:
    – When the target area is ascending or descending, if Adam Warlock used his Ultimate, his teammates would potentially revive and be stuck beneath the terrain if they were right on the target area platform. This issue has been resolved.
    – When the target area is ascending or descending, if Thor or Loki were revived by Hela’s team-up ability, they would potentially revive and be stuck beneath the terrain if they were right on the target area platform. This issue has been resolved.
    – When the target area is ascending or descending, if Jeff the Land Shark used his Ultimate to devour characters, they would potentially become stuck beneath the terrain if they were right on the target area platform. This issue has been resolved.
    – When the target area is ascending or descending, if Winter Soldier hit an enemy with his Ultimate and they landed right on the target area platform, damage may be lost. This issue has been resolved.

In the competitive game mode, if the destination during a transition wasn’t the final stage of a map, it used to prevent the vehicle’s effective range from showing when it neared the destination, which could affect the assessment of the effective operational zone. This problem has now been fixed.

HEROES

In Wolverine’s Deadpool & Wolverine costume, only the Undying Animal ability’s voice line was audible; now all other abilities have voice lines.

PC

Employing FSR 3 for frame rate adjustment might lead to memory issues, producing hazy model outcomes. However, we’ve successfully addressed this problem now.

CONSOLE

Wearing the Scarlet Spider costume included with the PlayStation bundle might sometimes cause the game to show you’re not wearing it properly after a restart. This problem has now been fixed.
