New Persona 6 Rumor Claims the Game Will Release in Less Than a Year

As a seasoned gamer who has traversed the Metaverse through Persona 3, 4, and 5, I must admit, the latest whispers of Persona 6 have me more excited than a Phantom Thief on payday. The rumors, while unconfirmed, hint at an art school setting, dual protagonists named Kuro and Shiro – sounds like a Yin and Yang duo ready to shake up the Joker’s world!

Recent whispers about “Persona 6” suggest that the game could be launched within the next year. Despite developer Atlus being engrossed in projects like “Persona 3 Reload”, “Shin Megami Tensei V”, and the upcoming “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, fan speculation continues about the progress of the as-yet unannounced “Persona 6”. In the absence of any formal updates, a fresh rumor has emerged online that might offer some insight into Atlus’ plans for the eagerly awaited sequel.

In their latest blog series about X, user @p0wyful has shared several intriguing details concerning a potential game named Persona 6. Notably, it’s been suggested that developer Atlus aims to release Persona 6 sometime during the summer of 2025. Specifically, they may be focusing on either July or August as their target dates. This is quite surprising since Atlus has yet to officially announce Persona 6 at this point. However, it’s speculated that an official unveiling could take place at The Game Awards later this year.

Beyond this tidbit, it’s being whispered that Persona 6 is set in an art school and introduces two main characters named Kuro and Shiro. Both figures will be playable, but it seems that one character might take a more significant role than the other. Additionally, it’s suggested that Persona 6 will incorporate broader open-world elements, enhance the Social Link system, and Atlus is reportedly planning up to three years of post-release downloadable content.

Typically, when such rumors surface, it’s wise to approach the information with caution. The reason for the recent buzz about Persona 6, however, is that a well-known Sega/Atlus tipster has confirmed some aspects of the claims. However, keep in mind that this source (previously known as Midori) has faced significant credibility issues lately. Therefore, it might be prudent to view this rumor with a higher degree of skepticism than usual.

Despite any ongoing work Atlus may have with “Persona 6”, their upcoming title, “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, is just a few weeks away from its release. Set for launch on October 11th, this game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
