As a longtime Pokémon enthusiast who has journeyed through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos, I can hardly contain my excitement about The Pokémon Works! The collaboration between The Pokémon Company and ILCA promises to deliver a rich, transcendent experience that spans geographical and generational boundaries.
This year, “The Pokemon Company” established a new branch within their organization called “The Pokemon Works”. Although this was initially unveiled through a trademark search, it was to be located at The Pokemon Company’s headquarters, indicating its close association with current Pokemon-related projects. While the nature of these projects remained unclear at the time, we now have more information about The Pokemon Works due to the launch of an official website for the subsidiary.
In the realm of Pokémon productions, The Pokémon Company is collaborating with ILCA, a development studio based in Tokyo that has previously contributed to Pokémon projects. Notable among these are Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, where ILCA took on the lead role as developer. Additionally, ILCA was involved in creating Pokémon Home, an online platform that has been serving as a central hub for Pokémon games for quite some time.
Currently, The Pokemon Company and ILCA are jointly engaged in new projects, or potentially several different ones. A website for The Pokemon Works has been established recently; however, as it’s only available in Japanese, a translation of the homepage (by DeepL) offers some insight into their collaboration.

The primary objective shared by these two Pokemon companions is to design an immersive and enriching journey that surpasses geographical and time-based barriers, making the experience accessible to a diverse range of players across different regions and generations. This indicates that fans in the Western hemisphere can look forward to immediate enjoyment, as this project seems to be designed for global accessibility from its outset.
On the same document, Takuya Iwasaki expressed a vision for enhancing Pokemon encounters, making them both more authentic and user-friendly. However, it’s not yet certain if this refers to several undertakings or a single project designed to offer varied experiences. The preview site currently features outlines of Gengar, Pikachu, and Snorlax, but offers no further clues about what might be in store.
Although no official details about it have been posted on their site, the recent major Pokemon leak revealed some information about a potential collaboration between The Pokemon Company and ILCA. There seems to be an indication of a cooperative multiplayer game in development, internally referred to as “Synapse.” However, specifics regarding this game remain scarce.
“The information on The Pokemon Works’ site might hint at this leak, or even the leaks in general. Takuya Iwasaki, who wrote the post, stated that ‘the path to development can be tough,’ but these hard times also measure the determination of those working.
