The upcoming Pokemon Trading Card Game series, titled “Destined Rivals,” is set to hit stores next month. However, it appears that the Pokemon Company has more in store for us beyond May. For quite some time now, rumors suggest another set coming in July, themed around “Pokemon Black and White.” Although not yet officially confirmed, PokeBeach has leaked some intriguing details about this new expansion. Similar to “Prismatic Evolutions” and “151,” this will be classified as a special edition, indicating that individual booster packs likely won’t be available for purchase. Instead, collectors might need to obtain packs by purchasing other related products.
Based on PokeBeach’s report, the Black & White set is expected to include two Elite Trainer Boxes, each showcasing one of the Legendary Pokemon from the game box art – one with Reshiram and another with Zekrom. Additionally, there will be two binder collections inspired by this pair, as well as a collection of posters and eight Mini Tins. At present, no images of these items have been released, so fans will need to stay tuned for further updates.
Lately, it’s been tough to find Pokemon TCG products, particularly the special expansions. These cards are primarily sold with other items, which makes them more attractive for resellers to sell on platforms like eBay compared to single booster packs. To address this issue, The Pokemon Company has taken several steps to ensure fans get their hands on these products. They’ve altered the preorder process on the Pokemon Center website, set purchase limits for the TCG vending machines, and even increased production to match the high demand.
In the world of Pokemon enthusiasts, Pokemon Black and White are highly esteemed. These games mark the fifth generation within the franchise and introduced many beloved characters like Zorua, Hydreigon, and Chandelure. A significant shift occurred in these games where only new Pokemon were accessible until additional content was unlocked. This meant that popular characters from previous generations, such as Pikachu, weren’t initially encountered by players. To compensate for this change, the developers created a large number of new Pokemon, ultimately introducing 156 in these games alone. It seems that the upcoming TCG set will showcase cards based on every single Pokemon featured in the Unova Pokedex.
anticipate that the official unveiling for the Pokemon Black and White collection is imminent, likely within the upcoming weeks. Historically, The Pokemon Company provides approximately two months’ notice before an English release. It wouldn’t be unexpected to see this announcement prior to the May 30th launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Destined Rivals!
