Battlefield 2042 can now be played on PS Plus Extra, and it’s certainly trying to captivate the attention of fans who are temporarily inactive within the Mass Effect universe, as they eagerly await the release of the next RPG installment from BioWare. In the meantime, this FPS has introduced a crossover event featuring cosmetic items inspired by Mass Effect.
Yesterday, two Mass Effect-themed item bundles became available for purchase alongside Update 8.9.0. The Galactic Bundle retails for 1,750 BFC, while the Scoped & Dropped Bundle costs 2,000 BFC. Alternatively, you can get both bundles together for 3,000 BFC. As shown below, one of the included weapon skins transforms your gun into the famous M8 Avenger.
These bundles will be available until 1st July 2025.
In update version 8.9.0, you’ll find a variety of enhancements, such as weapon modifications, one of which is the debut of the Underloaded Magazine accessory. Additionally, there are fresh game modes available in Portal: Control, Shutdown, Strike Team, and Killswitch.
In addition to the enhanced Battlefield 2042, yesterday’s PS Plus Extra release also featured three fresh titles: FBC: Firebreak, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and Endless Dungeon.
It’s highly probable that fans will need to exercise patience for a couple more years before the next Mass Effect game arrives. Due to transitions between Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s development and moving towards Mass Effect, BioWare has had to streamline their team. At this stage in production, the project isn’t yet at a point where it needs the entire studio’s involvement.
