A freshly leaked game featuring everyone’s favorite cartoon sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, has appeared online. This animation legend has proven its staying power with an impressive 26-year run on Nickelodeon, outlasting many of its contemporaries. SpongeBob’s success story is remarkable, leading to multiple films, spin-offs, and numerous video games, including timeless hits like “SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom.”
After a period where large SpongeBob games seemed scarce, there was a shift towards platformers. However, in recent times, we’ve seen a revival of big SpongeBob games.
After the well-received remaster of Battle for Bikini Bottom, THQ Nordic has taken advantage of the gaming community’s enthusiasm for SpongeBob to produce a series of new games based on the original concept. Over the past few years, we’ve seen releases like SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake and even The Patrick Star Game, both of which are solid 3D platformers that cater to fans of the popular character. It appears that another SpongeBob game is on the horizon soon.

There’s a strong chance that this upcoming game could make its debut at Summer Game Fest, complete with a trailer and launch date. The identities of the “titans” mentioned remain undisclosed, but they might be figures like King Neptune or the Flying Dutchman, or entirely new characters not associated with any previous shows or movies. Since THQ Nordic is behind this game, it’s plausible that we’re looking at another 3D platformer similar to ‘Battle for Bikini Bottom’ or ‘The Cosmic Shake’. No specific platforms have been mentioned yet, but given its likely release on all major consoles, it might also be available on the rumored Nintendo Switch 2.
